What if there's a variant of a Toxic planet caused by a planet-sized Heck/Flesh? Can't always put the blame to all humanoids, y'know?

Oh man I forgot about the Heck biomes. I sure hope those come back soon-ish.

Well... if the planet is toxic from the very start, then it's a perfect industrial colony location. I mean - acids are very often used in various hi-tech processes. Also - the planet isn't very potent when it comes to life, so destroying it further won't really matter in the long run, since standard lifeforms won't colonize it anyhow.

Well, the different industries could have all been set up at the same time on different planets. How would they have known about the disasters that would come to be, when no one else had that occur to them.

Millions of different planets at the same time, all with the exact same result? Um...

How about a Toxic Nanosuit so we can explore the flooded depths of these worlds without dying?

It looks amazing but i avoid those planets since poison is always harmful even when wearing the radiation suit, Need some way around that problem so i can travel on toxic oceans.

I really hope this doesn't mean that all of the poisonious ocean planets are going to be like that. I'm starting to feel that most of these biome tweaks and changes are narrowing down the diversity even more. There are already many posts about how repetitive the game becomes after discovering just 4 or 5 systems. I understand that there are many additions to the randomly generated dungeons and stuff but that won't be a solution for the repetativeness of the environments. Due to the removal of the temperature system and the lack of many different weather types other than that 5 or 6 repetative ones makes all the planets feel the same. I'm sure in terms of art and look they are getting this different feel but that won't solve the problem i'm talking about. Just for comparison everyone who wants to understand how massively diverse the universe can be go ahead and download Space Engine and go explore a bit. I understand that the this is just a game and the focus is not on making it too difficult. However a more diverse universe with more climate types more biome types and eviroments would be way more immersive in my opinion.

    Beat me to it.
I am wondering how we're going to investigate this.

This is so naive a way to think...

It's a major Human Race problem that many people get into things like Business & the like with intent to abuse the power they'll get & strive to use it to do anything they want & not give a damn who or what they hurt in the process & do their damn best to never be responsible for the Consequences of their actions... & be too damn retarded to understand why this is a bullshit strategy. :fireball:

    Humans suck.

Like hell we can't. I sure as hell can. :p

I'm sure they coulda bothered doing stuff like 'Testing' or 'Planning' or hell, even try out cool ideas like Solar Power, Recycling, & the like... but that would involve spending Money on something that doesn't blatantly obviously make a profit, or in general... 'thinking'... & sadly many Humans think thinking is a retarded thing to do so they instead opt to not think, screw everything up, send everything to hell, then delude themself into thinking it was impossible for the error to happen, to do anything about it happening, to see the result coming, or worst of all, think they could just throw the consequences onto everyone & everything else other then themselves & get away with it... & if they eat their own Karma, they're actually SURPRISED this was actually possible & make sniveling cowards &/or retards of themselves in some way shape or form.

It's not naive. Businesses are driven by profit. Training new employees is expensive. Building outposts on faraway planets is expensive. Having the investment destroyed before it could turn a profit is extremely costly.

Businesses are all about creating as much profit as possible, correct? So why would they send repeat missions to various worlds if they were to soon be destroyed?

Man, as if those ruins in the forests and garden biomes didn't get my ''Ruins Lover'' mode going hard enough already. Can't wait to explore all those ruined industrial complexes!

Also, any chance of Shipwrecks (space or otherwise) popping up anywhere? I saw a broken anchor in the game's files so I thought. that maybe soon... right?

  15. It's also expensive to make sustaining stuff. Who says that the industrial complexes were destroyed because of an environmental hazard? Perhaps some of them were simply deserted when they extracted everything that they wanted out of the planet, and then they moved on?
Some might have gotten destroyed by unforeseen circumstances but you can't underestimate the power of apathy.
The toxicity might have only happened after the facilities were abandoned and their containment procedures for whatever hell-demon-poison failed for lack of maintenance.

edit: Oh right, and also - not all civilizations have eco-friendly values. Medieval europeans thought that anything that wasn't immediately useful to humanity is a crime against their god's plan and must be destroyed or at least doesn't deserve pity or protection.
We have so many real examples of uncaring businesses that don't care to really maximize the usefulness of a certain area, they just want the easiest, quickest buck possible.

Oh good, the toxic planets had been pretty... uneventful. And the appearance of more space-age/industrial constructs is a nice touch, as we don't really have a lot of that in the game. Very nice.

Though I wonder... will these planets have some sub-biomes of some sort, or will we be seeing Toxic patches on non-Toxic worlds?

Is there a way to be under all that toxic mess? Cause those poison ocean planets are useless to me.

I haven't tried playing a nightly build yet maybe I should give it a go. But is there any way to avoid getting hurt by poison? I haven't even touched the poison sea planets in the regular game because it just seems like an overall bad idea. ): Since I'd just get poisoned constantly.

Ill be honest, as much as i like the concept of the industrial complex, i feel that having it as a planet wide thing is a little off, especially if multiple planets are having it, which is fine. Just i can see it more of a sub-biome with a mixture oil and toxic puddles then broken up industrial structures. Shoot, if they wanted they can make a Nuclear power plant varient with toxic barrels and poop mutants everywhere.[DOUBLEPOST=1438371223][/DOUBLEPOST]To clarify, i like the industrial complex image and idea, just not as a planet. If they were doing a man-made, industrial or cityscape like planet, i think they'd go with something that involves dust, metal, concrete, and to be clever maybe a new bio-metal/liquid metal material to go with it
