Wait, didn't he say the planets were infinite? So there is an end?

Most of the time he only Tweets important things or achievements for the games development, so you can see why we would. :)

The engine can support planets of infinite size. That doesn't mean the planets will be infinite.

So far it seems as if there will be certain preset sizes for planets (think small/medium/large).

This makes sense...if a planet was infinite, shouldn't it fill the whole starmap?

Did you hear, "Every game needs fullscreen + borderless".

Possible in the engine as stated in the above post, but probably won't have infinite planets in the game.

So I guess you could say the amount of pixels...
    IS OVER 9000!
    ...
    I'll let myself out.

    IS
    THAT
    ALL
    ?
I'm sorry, but if you knew anything about pixels you would know that is a tiny amount.

Have you taken into account the fact that each object in the game only has so many pixels? That's a ton of objects and textures.

    1. I don't think he actually counted them, but it is possible.
    2. Its, possible because he just has to go to the images folder of the games contents and add up all the resolutions, giving him an estimate number of pixels (if you count transparent pixels)

You don't think Tiy's thoughts about game presentation which directly influence the design of this said game are important to the development process?
That's fine we all have opinions.

I honestly can't tell whether or not you're being sarcastic.. Anyway, I made this thread because that number just shows how big this game really is, I mean how many pixels does a normal sized texture have?

    Wait a second...317 million pixels...Dinosaurs...Indie games...

    230-65=195

    317-195=122

Now all we have to do is add the numbers that are the same and subtract the other one, as dictated by the Streiner method, and...

    2+2-1=3

    3

    Half Life 3 confimed

Holy totalitarian space monkey, batman! That's alot of cash!!

Actually that's what our pre-order money has been going towards really. Ever since they announced the stretch goals, Tiy has been counting pixels...it's his Sunday project!

Something I find interesting (I'm a small number geek, and easily entertained)

    3+1+7+6=17
    1+7=8

    31+76=107
    1+0+7=8

    317+6=323
    3+2+3=8

    3+176=179
    1+7+9=17
    1+7=8

    and any other combination (61+73=134 ; 1+3+4=8)

So I'd have to say that Starbound will be released sometime in the next 8 months.

I'm sure there will be more pixels in that count on a daily basis.

I'm not that good at maths but doesn't that equal 165 not 195?
