I want to form a jazz band on a multiplayer server now... I could build my own Jazz club and hire members its going to be so AWESOME!

Musical Instruments, Ho! Should make instruments the way to tame certain animals. possible different materials for some instruments, like wooden flute vs metal flute?

I started playing Terraria again recently because i keep dreaming of playing Starbound. Literal dreams. makes me disappointed in the morning

 

I will be recruiting for a drum corps ( NO WOODWINDS ALLOWED) STARBOUND BRIGADE!!!! I'll be lead Euphonium and you shall refer to me as sergeant

 

Very nice, indeed. I am hoping to find my character playing the old Metroid Kraid theme on a piano in Starbound.

 

Musical instruments are just one of those things that makes a game so much fun, and the ABC notation? definitely reminds me of Mabinogi. I am so hyped up right now.

 

The music system reminds me of LOTRO's music system. Simply amazing.

I spent hours messing with it in LOTRO, and the fact this system is going to be put into Starbound is incredible.

 

This was a triumph.

Amazing! Playing an instrument should buff your allies, Mount & Blade style. There's nothing quite like marching into battle to the sounds of flutes and drums.

 

I know this isn't important but stars don't twinkle in space.

 

I play trombone, and if they have trumpet, why not trombone too? Sure, with the slide, animation could be harder....

You guys should go crazy with instruments and add a "misc instrument" that will let you connect to an external VST, soundfont, etc.

I really don't like the sound of MIDIs much, I hope you guys will try to make these sound good!

I'm feeling nitpicky. There ought to be different sound files for different octaves of some instruments, for example that trumpet sounds odd in the lower octaves. Or, perhaps, there could be a realistic limit to the range of pitches for each instrument?

Also: I hope there's gonna be some cool alien instruments as well as the Human ones.

PS I'm a clarinet player myself, I did try saxophone once though and I'm trying to teach myself to play guitar.

Please make that a mechanic of playing instruments around Sentient Beings. Them dropping small change in front of you?

Welp... this just adds to the possibilities of role play in this game. I might as well live in this game.

I like that everyone works on something interesting they want to add. Looking forward to what the others are working on in their free time. Tiy can now toot his own horn.
