It must be one hell of a challenge for Chucklefish to not do something amazingly. Oh and goodnight Tiy!
If they release one hundred bosses each at 1% each... Does that mean they've completed 100% of bosses?
Going by this, and Tiy's tweets, it sounds like Starbound will be hitting Sony's Playstation ecosystem. It's great that more people get to play Starbound, I just hope that designing for consoles doesn't hamper the game's modability and interface design from a PC perspective. Keep up the great work, Chucklefish! Looking forward to my game of the year being released!
Sweet, another good cave screenshot. One thing tho. I know spoiler central.. but sound effects wise we've not been treated to a glimpse in awhile. How about a peek at the quest complete jingle or atleast show off how the fade in and out on music works? We've all heard the soundtrack.. so showing off all that hard work wont be to much of a spoiler.
Just pointing out there is a hole in the background near the top. This might be a over-ground cave (or a bug).
People also said this a year ago. Remember, there have been people waiting for beta since the full version was speculated for summer of 2012.
I feel sorry for Chucklefish. Nearly 80% of all the posts here is "beta this" and "beta that". You didn't just pay for beta access, you paid to support the game and its development. Not only that, but you got the game cheaper than people will be able to after release. Demanding beta access like it is your divine right dosen't help the game development. They will release beta when they feel it is an enjoyable experience. In software development, the beta stage is when a portion of the audience tries out the product, and this game isn't ready to be tried until Chucklefish decides so. Sorry if I sound harsh in this reply, but you don't sound any better when you complain about beta access non stop. Besides, doesn't the Insomnia Gaming Festival have to happen first? Why bother begging when there is no way it is being released before then?
So from the level of in-house play testing that seems to be going on, I get the feeling we are going to basically get a finished game for the beta, minus a few features, with all the bugs theoretically removed. Our jobs will then be mostly to stress test and catch what the team missed? I know that may sound obvious, but I've been in a few really big betas (a couple wow expacs for example) and the games half the time are barely playable before release. This will hopefully then be a nice change of pace.
Beta has nothing to do with the festival. The showing at the festival would be a better idea of the ultimate release date they have in mind.
I disagree. Paying for a game is supporting, no doubt about that, but it also means you have the right to that game. That's the whole point of paying for it. This isn't like Kickstarter where you fund a project that has yet to take shape. This was a pre-order with a Beta acces key. That brings us to Beta. A beta isn't an enjoyable experience, it's a testing version of the game to turn it into an enjoyable experience. That's where I think Chucklefish has it wrong (and that's about the only thing they do wrong...). They're housetesting it alot (almost every night if you believe the daily updates) and yet no pre-order client has had a chance to give their own feedback, except on the pics and screens we see on the forums. So yes, I am asking for beta because the game looks playable and we would like a hands-on experience of the game we've all been looking forward to (and paid for). Is that so bad? Are we so rude to ask for a product we want and funded? Anyway, I understand it can get annoying seeing everyone ask for beta but it's just cuz we're so eager to explore the universe chucklefish has created. I hope you read this in a calm soothing voice (let's say: Morgan Freeman) and not as a rant. It's not intended as the latter
