i haven't seen anything that says that the horse one is for the Glitch, i actually haven't seen none been spesifically placed with the races, not by a developer atleast so the horse one could just as well be human ai as any other but the others are a lot more obviously paired with their races
Honestly, I hadn't thought of it that way. That's a very interesting take, one that I don't recall reading before. This line of thought got me thinking: Maybe it does fit Humans better than Glitch? Many humans do seem to have a fixation on breasts. In contrast: I seriously, seriously doubt that the Glitch have an obsession with organic, lactose-producing mammary glans. That'd be even weirder than having the Glitch worship a well-endowed horse goddess.

I hate the idea of the horse AI, it breaks immersion completely when you spend days exploring a planet, go back to your ship and see that horse. Good thing I never play the glitch. Meh, Personal tastes and opinions I suppose.
That feels kinda disappointing that the way it is. A few pages back, I mentioned something along the lines of the possibility of the horse head really being a mask. Here's the link to the post in question. Though re-reading my post, the art assets for the horse head/mask can be used even after obtaining the signal disruption device. If I remember correctly, one of the UI changes when orbiting a planet is actually telling the player what are the major settlements on the planet, yes? Well, if the Glitch's SAIL detects that the major settlement is a Glitch Castle or Glitch Village, PTSD kicks in on the Glitch's SAIL and she dons on the horse mask. If the planet has the Glitch Sewers or anything that isn't a Glitch Castle or Glitch Village, then she'd look like her normal Holo-Glitch self. It gives the Glitch's SAIL a bit more character. Kinda makes one ask what was her role among the Glitch Outcasts and why was her brain re-purposed to be a SAIL instead of being reconnected to the hive mind or worse. >_>;
i sead this in another topic but in midevil times most "vehicles" were powered by horses most horses in battle were female becouse they beleved they were faster so it makes sence for it to be a female horse but why humanoid? becouse they wanted it to stand out besides just being a horse
i still dont understand why people hate it so much, i personally love the horse, it makes me wanna use the glitch more
Most ground vihicles. Ships were powered by the wind. So, obviously, the reference to ship will be better then reference to horse. Or, maybe tired rower with paddle!
It's true that horses were the mode of transportation of the day. Though, the same can be said of the Western United States during the 19th century. So the same argument can be made for a horse fitting the Wild West theme of the Novakids. I could see how a sailing ship is also a good reference for Medieval transportation, especially as it seems a good fit for a space ship. But the devs could use a sailing ship theme for the AI... how? You can't exactly draw a talking sailing ship as an avatar. If you had a talking boat paddle, it'd be even more silly/creepy than Horse Lady. And it'd look a lot like that annoying "Clippy": (BTW: MS Office has, or had, 15 other assistants, including Merlin the wizard and Robby the robot. If Office allowed users to choose from a variety of agents, then why can't Starbound?) On the other hand, I could imagine a Glitch AI wearing a traditional captain's hat (think Pirates of the Carribean) or a traditional sailor's uniform. Though, to be fair, we've not seen much (any?) maritime references in Glitch culture. If anything, it's a better fit with Avian Pirates. Interesting. Well, I learned something new. But then, I don't think this is common knowledge - at least, among most of us who are not familiar with history and/or horses. But does it make sense for the style of the AI interface for a race to depend upon esoteric knowledge? Whether it's trivia like this or having to collect most of the Glitch's codex entries just to understand how the AI fits their lore, I think it's understandable that players would complain about how the avatar seems out of place. Players should not be expected to have an encyclopedic knowledge of history - whether based on game lore or real life - in order to accept an element of the game as appropriate. Because they wanted it to stand out? Why would they want that? None of the other races did anything like that to their AI. Sorry, but I still say that's a huge stretch. It doesn't just stand out, it's freakish. And they could of done any number of other things to make it stand out, like have it wear a hat. Or make it a robot horse.
Where did you get that info about most horses used in battle being female? I looked it up and found only information that would suggest the contrary (male horses are bigger and more willing to fight and tend to win more horse races). Anyway, the horse only makes sense to the extent of it being associated with medieval times, but it would still make more sense to be a robotic horse, or for the horse to be for the cowboy themed Novakid. Also, why would they want this A.I. to stand out when all of the other ones are very neutral?
The horse boobed lady (?) is actually... A novakid AI. Cowboys sure ride dem horses. (Do I need to mention I'm being sarcastic or something?) Real talk chucklefish: Give the player the choice for the AI you get at start. Maye make more than one for each race, I dunno? It would also help people that enjoy Role Play. Having a big ape AI for an apex rebel would be less immersive for them? Heck, make it so you can change whenever by buying them later on. That'd be rad. This should solve the problem. Unless people start complaing about being given said choice... Then I've got nothing.
it was in a history book, but now that i think of it, it might have been the Native Americans who used the female horses over male ones that would make snece but it would be odd having 2 horses i think the nova kids should have an oldtimy prospector personaly but thats a topic for a diffrent topic
Not me, My "Storage Unit" character will have to become a "Storage Plant" Or "Storage Bird". Or maybe Even "Storage Fish". No pun for me. I also just noticed that the glitch grow mechanical livestock....and the horses they ride are also mechanical. Yet they have a regula- ahem, "regular", horse for some reason.
For those of you who still can't understand how many of us find Horse Lady so repulsive, here's something of an analogy: Or take a gander at the first dozen images of a Google image search for "Nigel Thornberry". Like "le epik may mays", the image of Nigel Thornberry is a common meme subject. And a source of Internet humor. Typically, the humor is about his huge nose and buck teeth. Or overall freakish looks. To emphasize this, it's not uncommon to put his head on a woman's body. Or to alter celebrities to resemble Nigel. Funny, it may be. But it's still freakish or creepy to many of us. And ugly. Certainly, I wouldn't want that mug on my ship's AI! I'd definitely try to find some way to disable the avatar. If you can defend Horse Lady as fitting for the Glitch AI, then why not something similar to this: I think that might be a very rough approximation of how many of us see Horse Lady.
