First off cool about the glaciers and all. Second hope you havent skiped good crystal areas as they are my personal fav. Third for your weekend project why not try a construction kit. You design a base in a project put the required materials in the kit place it. Activate it and it slowly constructs the base. If your like me you have bases all over the place and it burns too much time building them all. Could work with flying bots, have them teleport in and out, or just make it happen and say nanites.
It would be awesome if you become friends with NPCs by doing their quests. Then when your friends they give cooler quests and follow you to help you in exploring the world.
Oh, did you plan on playing Saints row 4? Don't. there's a dubstep cannon, they gave away life-sized replicas or something to pre-orderers. And I agree with everything in that post Edit : I cannot forum, I have no idea what I'm doing xD
"Ideas for fun features we should work on in our down time this weekend?" Rainbow Blackholes. Because why not?
Black Holes as a whole (get it?) are gonna be hard to implement cause the ship travels to a planet automatically when you select it
Perhaps they could have a 0.002 percent chance of happening when you select a planet? Or there could be a kind of "Space Weather" where it wouldn't be safe to travel, and you'd have X % of a chance to be caught in a : Asteroid field, Black hole ( It'd damage your ship and send you off into space ) Nebula ( Have your navigation, or electronics not work, so melee fighting is a must, unless you use conventional bullet weapons ( But those are so 21st century ) ).
If it's a black hole, you dead, seriously dead. Not even light can escape a black hole, BUT, on the GUI it says that your ship flies faster than the speed of light which could mean that you would need a certain amount of fuel to escape from a black hole, maybe about 50-60% of your fuel will be wasted escaping if you get caught, but if you have less, you're dead
Cybernetic Aesthetic or equippable items that change your character to make them look like they've got prosthetics.
I like it, yeah, don't black holes squeeze you into a singular point, where time doesn't move? and you die immediately?
Once they start pulling you, they start crushing you into an atom once you're within a certain distance from them. So far the only thing unrealistic thing in the sci-fi part of Starbound, is that, for something to travel the speed of light, it needs to have either no mass, or infinite energy (based on Einstein). And even the light can't escape black holes and since we don't know anything that travels faster than light, we don't exactly know how fast a black hole pulls something towards itself.
First Boss? So a total of 10 bosses in game? Or a total of 10 that are required to be defeated To progress? I, for one, would love to see bosses with specific requirements to meet. Heck, I'd love to see it where some players would NEVER see these "Secret" Bosses until they look up a list that others have found with Coordinates. They should also "Scale" to the players item level, so they will always be a challenge. Boss Encounter Mechanics Should include but are not limited to: The boss itself is in the background, and you must fight his hands then head once those are dead. Standard boss that fights the player on the same level, dash attacks and whatnot a boss battle where you must chase him down before the actual fight. Using unorthodox methods to kill the boss instead of weapons. A monster you must make hurt himself One where you must progress through an illusionary dungeon and must get all the proper keys to actually kill him. During the fight a player is subdued while they are asked a riddle, they must answer correctly with their knowledge of lore to not take damage from that attack. A monster that destroys bricks and you must run from while fighting a monster that eats you and you must destroy from the inside out. a monster that moves across the land like a colossal, you must scale him to get to his weakspot Flying monsters were interesting to fight A stronger version of the player himself. Boss that summons more monsters. Bosses with different tiers of strength as it is damaged A giant airship... How awesome would destroying an entire airship be. Those are just a few i thought of off the top of my head. I'm sure all of you guys can think of more.
I for one support the movement to have Waffles be a major Starbound boss, in reference to how before all creatures got their names there was only... Waffles.
Heres a boss idea, a medium sized sphere/eye that attracts some nearby blocks to its v=body, creating a shield around it (like a katamari), so you have to use explosives to get to the center and kill the eye. PS; the numbers are amazing aren't they?
