It would be cool if a galaxy or a system (in higher levels) have a chance to be infected by a pandemic disease or something like that. If something like condition of armor is implemented, the more damaged the armor have, higher the chance of you being infected. Then you could use natural medicine, try to find some cure in other sectors... This could even be part of a big side quest.
the weekend project should be something to do with pets! Maybe something like Rrueya said, A type of pet fighting arena against your friends!
Oh man, what I would give to submit ANY pixel sprites or stuff to these guys just to know I made that, but I don't think they do that kinda thing.
Social animations would still be cool, and npcs could also react to them. Maybe that could also have chance of different reaction.
I said this before, but the feature i look foreword, even though i haw no idea if it ever happen, but since you asked ill be overjoyed to answer, is the ability to populate houses/city's you build. The more appropriate example would be somthin like Terraria, but i dont want my NPC to be limited to only 1 of each, this way the houses and building i dont use would actual serve a purposes and my home wont be so lonely if i haw a bunch of NPC friends waiting for me. Sincerely hope you guys take this feature into consideration, Oh btw good job on finishing quest interface, and jingle for quest completion is a must! Here's a for you guys to enjoy during hard earned weakened = ).
For a weekend project, I propose elevators! And I'm sure we all enjoy seeing these quest windows, Tiy. xD EDIT: Actually, a Create-a-Boss contest could be awesome I think! Well, at some point at least.
Maybe you could create bosses but also create mini-bosses of a sort? Like alpha-creatures that are 2 or 3 times the size of their regular counterpart that give rarer drops or something along those lines.
I second this idea.. that would just be gnarls barkley.... maybe even add an mp3 player to tote around with you, with the same access to your PC library?
I would like to politely disagree. You've already got a suggestions subforum for NPCs. There have been boss ideas being fleshed out there since the subforum was created. I'm sure the ideas you'll find there will be (in general) of much better quality than what you'll get from people throwing ideas up off the top of their heads trying to be the first post in a boss idea thread. I'm sorry, man. It's just that, in a boss idea thread, you're specifically asking for ideas, so people are going to be like "OMG I can totally get an idea into the game here" and just put out the first thing that comes to their excitement-clouded head. There are plenty of suggestions in the NPC suggestion forum that are specifically related to bosses. The ideas you'll find there are humble little things that people have put a lot of thought into without the pressure that might be brought on by other circumstances.
Pet features are always a big hit... But thinking outside the box a bit, I would like to see some fun uses of water. I feel like most games don't fully utilize the potential of water and the different features it can offer. Examples: Fill up squirt guns and have squirt gun fights (or spray some enemies and get them chasing you) Search for and collect shells/clams/pearls/whatever Find sunken treasure (Scuba gear required to reach deep depths) Recreational water sports (Water skiing, canoeing, parasailing, surfing, etc.) Garden hose to water your grass, fill up a pool, etc. (Requires water source, of course). Dolphin riding Whale hunting Mermaids Maybe some of these are already planned, and others might not fit well with Chucklefish's vision for Starbound... But still, those are just some ideas, and I'm sure there are many more uses of water that could make it exciting in its own right, and not just a swimming obstacle between land and more land.
Just off the top of my head, some boss (or mini-boss) ideas: Space pirate attack (Sort of like a goblin attack except you could make it even cooler with like a main ship or something) Giant Robot mecha thing (could have multiple body parts that you have to kill, similar to how skeletron worked, or maybe multiple stages) Mutant Yeti (for the icy planet) Living Comet (a sentient comet that shoots asteroids at you and attempts to kamikaze you when its about to die) Mutated Swamp tentacle monster (only reveals its eyes and tentacles from the murky swamp water until they're all destroyed, upon which it crawls onto land and attempts to kill you with acids) Colossal Ancestral Statue (Maybe for a temple of kluex, entering the boss room and taking an item activates either 1 large or several medium sized statues to attack the intruder(s)) Electromagnetic Scorpion (Its tail can produce an electromagnetic pulse, rendering all Techy-weapons and tools temporarily useless, and forcing the attacker to use melee weapons or run) Packs of various animals (More of a mini-boss idea, but it could be a good idea to make herds or packs of the various mobs that present the player with the choice of a challenging fight or a path of avoidance) Giant Radioactive Driller Mole (living underground, it spawns very rarely on a world, but when one is spawned, it digs through the lower underground of planets and the area behind it gets filled up randomly with blocks that it has recently dug up. Since it would be radioactive, you'd have to stay far from it to avoid taking DPS, and attacking it will cause it to go on a blind rampage. I think this would be a good idea because it would cause certain planets to be constantly changing in their tunnels and players wouldn't get to familiar with going down the same tunnel over and over again) Mutated Astronaut (An aspiring astronaut crash landed on an uncharted planet many years ago after falling off course. Needing to survive in the harsh environment, the astronaut stayed nearby his crashed ship to use as a shelter during the night. However, the astronaut didn't know that the ship was very slowly leaking its radioactive fuel into the ground water that the surrounding ecosystem used as nourishment. Over time, the astronaut mutated from eating all the (now radioactive) plants and animals in the area, and after a few weeks, lost all control and became an enormous mutant monster. This mini-boss would be found next to a world generated ship, and the area it existed in would be highly radioactive.) I should probably stop now before this gets too long and post on a boss suggestion forum...
I feel bad begging for an extra feature but I would really really like it if ore distributions were based on the type of sun/ star cluster the planet is in. Heavier elements are made in stars, after all.
What we need are gatling-smokebombs, so a boss with gatling-rocket launchers on its shoulders and a gatling-gatling-gun on its belly.
When you said: All the numbers, all the numbers, i immediately though of: These Numbers Mason, What do they mean?
