I feel like the development of Starbound is basically a reenactment of the history of the development of video games. This is not a complaint, in case anyone takes it that way. I'm absolutely fascinated by it. ^__^
how elevator will be technically implemented? how it will be activated? Would it be possible to build it yourself? How will the construction of traffic routes elevator? Is there a limit on the length of the path of the elevator?
My one worry is that we are going to be too powerful for the monsters. Most of the games enemies are WAY to easy to overcome with the basic weapons so I'm hoping to see some buffed and unique enemies in the future.
I always figured we'd have moving platforms that followed along a certain type of background tile, like how skyrail rider tech follows skyrails. Can we expect customization, like controlling the distance and direction that the platform moves in? We're at least going to be able to pick up and place them ourselves, right?
omg they should take ideas from metroid that games was awsome psss devs metriod armor sh sh just to let u know dont tell no one secret ok LOL
Slightly up, up and towards the upper floors! Good to see this being worked on![DOUBLEPOST=1443454122][/DOUBLEPOST] They have the morphball tech, which is based on the power by the same name in the game.
What if we could attach extra blocks to the platforms? they would be able to carry other blocks with them so you could add buttons and stuff on it that would make it go up and down. Imagine how cool that would be. Not to mention all the crazy contraptions people would make out of these if they could move blocks. *GASP! amazing idea, you could have like a lift that would open a super big door, or you could have a door and a turret on a moving platform, so pop up turrets. (this would be great for dungeons)
Haha, you're attempting to downplay the significance of moving platforms in the Starbound engine because a simplistic game back in the 80s also had moving platforms. This is funny because it's such an asinine comparison.
