Happy Monday everyone! This week (and for the latter bit of last week) we're focusing on testing our internal build of Starbound! A handful of us have started playing through the whole game, and the remaining handful have gone to work fixing bugs we encounter along the way, tweaking whatever needs tweaking. An important thing we've noticed is that we're legitimately still having fun playing this game that we've spent several years of our lives working on! More fun than we've ever had playing it before, I'd say, which is a good sign. We've also been catching and correcting plenty of bugs, which is encouraging! We are still adding things to Starbound here and there, but we expect testing and bug-fixing to be our main focus for the next few weeks. 'Til next time!
That's great to know! I have hight hopes for 1.0! Any plans to implement more asteroid field features yet? Like asteroid mines, tentacomet offspring, novakid villages, etc.
So, does this mean that 1.0 is "almost" ready and it's time to do a loooong period of testing and bug fixes?
Do novakids even have villages? I've been waiting for 1.0 to really dig in since early access launch, since when I start I want to just sit down and do all the things
For some reason I can't stop thinking about the devs just playing the game with bug nets on standby to catch ingame bugs on different planets and that what they meant by bug catching. Would be ironic if there were bugs dealing with the literal bugs in the game. Seriously though I'm glad they are looking for bugs and not just expecting the players to beta test for them on Unstable launch. Seeing how 1.0 is meant to be the final character wipe it would be very sad if someone were to lose a character due to a quest breaking bug even if it were to be on unstable.
If they are focusing on bug-fixing and testing, I think 1.0 may not be *that* far away. Anyways, I appreciate all of the things you guys are sharing us, so keep up the good work
Hey! I thought this would be a great moment to talk about an exploit where if you press down and forward (left or right depending where are you looking at) really fast repeatedly while facing 2-3 block spaces (morphball holes), you can clip through the wall (is faster with speed dash tech)
I know that, but not long ago, someone brought up a really interesting idea that would actually work for them since they are actually nomadic in culture. They'd be drifters going wherever their asteroid takes their settlement. They'd be settled in a settlement, but that settlement would never be settled. Always changing and ever moving like the novakids are.
What about the bug preventing a player from teleporting back to their own ship while aboard a party member's ship?
Great to hear, also I was wondering since the universe is vast will we be seeing randomly generated races once 1.0 drops I think it'd be cool to see different races across the universe.
A few WEEKS? Damn... I cand wait for the 1.0... How do you think, will we get it until the end of August?
