22nd July More Novakids and progression

    They are not in the game for me.
    I tried to put it to nightly and it won't even start the game then.
    I have no idea how to get nova kids.
    Please help me

    Try and delete worlds,player,universe folders,and delete starbound.config
    Might wanna try and back those files if you dont wanna lose them too.

    That did it for me

    I like that thought. Maybe since there are different types of guns already in the game we could have even specializing in types of guns like the melee thought earlier in the topic thread. Like having Nova Kids focusing on guns but maybe being able to use mostly western style melee then having Humans able to use both guns and melee but nothing overly hi-tech till much later. While florans have wood and bio weapons down to an art form, and hylotyl being able to use small/light weapons and their Asian themed weapons but also having good tech weapons cause it seemed to me that they were more scientific but not overly war focused. Apex seem more war focused but being oppressed by the Mini-Knog might minimalize what the non-officers can do so not sure there... but that idea is some racial options I would like to see making the separate races more specialized. I like the glitches and think they would be good with medieval weapons, but based on the thoughts, I am wondering if there should also be a restriction on use of specified racials since it would be hard to use weapons another race uses and makes, so maybe having an item that drops or can be found that trains in the use of racial gear for each tier in racial dungeons?

    Just a quick opinion but maybe if each race gets a smaller racial version of the armor bonuses that can be strengthened by the armor or allow uniqueness based on the options of other armors would allow a changed play style in the beginning that would be able to be minorly fazed by end-game point making it not a huge deal but making each start out unique? I am just thinking of ways to compromise. heh

    Will there be anything special with the other races
    I feel like the nova kids might have a bigger advantage because of there ranged attack

    can you please please please put the thrusters on the front of the ship
    to make it look like the train is pulling the cargo like in real life
    insted of it being in the back and haveing it be like a very long limo :rofl:

    why can't all races craft guns from the outset. for a game that's sci-fi, i don't understand the heavy focus on melee combat.

    Surely you'd have to go back through it anyway to get out, since you can't beam up from underground.

    So, uh...

    Races were supposed to be a thematic choice, but now Novakids can craft guns? An ability that NO other race gets at all? I do hope this is rectified, or it breaks that supposed 'race balance' thing that inherent racial bonuses got shot down with. People won't pick Novakid because they like the theme, they'll pick them because they're the only ones that can make guns, which are tricky to get ahold of normally.

    Well, I'm hoping they will introduce gun crafting for all species in the future. You would need to collect different types of resources in order to get the desired weapon, and the difficulty of creating one would be based on the aspect of the weapon (i.e. smaller weapons would require less resources than say, a missile launcher) as well as how powerful you want the weapon to be..
    Though I'm still not very satistified with the fact that you use tech energy as ammo for all weapons... I think it would be cool to have different types of ammo that you could create, like armor piercing rounds or inflammable, all of them with pros and cons.

    I don't know the last time you played, but ever since they added low level guns they're actually very easy to get now.

    I wonder what a novakid dungeon would be like...a dynamite mine? A saloon with women of ill repute? A solar panel farm?
