inb4 tentacle porn. Understand I am grateful for all the hard work, However- First time I've ever been disappointed by a daily update, First caveat was the fact that instead of showing a single piece of ore, *out of hundreds* they showed a single intro, *out of what six?*, with the reasoning that it was less of a spoiler. Next problem was the suspension of logic required to make me believe that with all the people, tech, tools and other resources on earth, they wern't enough to detect or destroy said tentacles. Yet I'm sure -one guy- or a -small group- will be able to tackle them with less in game. Friggin tentacles are so boring.
and? Consider how the universe work, there is always that force we can never control, that material we can not break, that distance we can never travel, how ever advance we get.
Don't be too hard on them. Tiy's intent was to give us something we haven't seen, yet. Also, don't forget... all we see are the tentacles. I'm wondering what those tentacles are attached to and I remember Tiy mentioning something about giant space creatures. Tentacles might only be the symptom and we could be in for much more.
I don't believe I'm being 'hard' on anyone. It's an opinion and yes. Your fanboy defensive speculation still leaves that whole 'small group capable of dealing with something a whole world of people couldn't deal with, even with more resources and tech' If it was an enlightened utopia, how come nobody noticed the giant squid destroying the world?
great video, but it feels like some info is missing... i.e. the jewel of humanity-missing chunk-but something grew... jusy my own opinion, not trying to troll, and I know it's WIP! It's a great starting point
because they're all human.... we tend to ignore whdat we don't want to know/see. plus... government and news coverups? very plausible lol!
consider both enlightenment and utopia are two factors commonly associated with pacifism, military tech had possibly been neglected, plus even today with all the tech we have now we still stumble over new undiscovered species and what not, so it´s clear high tech =/= all knowing, so mankind didnt spot it and then it escalated so fast mankind couldn't find a solution in time.
I am not being defensive. Your reply to my post had the appearance of being disenfranchised. I just thought I'd share an alternate viewpoint for consideration. It was a friendly attempt. Besides, how do you honestly know that nobody noticed some creature destroying the world? I'm sure someone noticed something the second the first burger king got crunched. Personally, I'm surprised you didn't notice the biggest hole in the plot. The video implies that destroying earth was an apocalyptic end of the human civilization, or at least the government. But, if Earth was the center of an empire, then how does destroying one planet really end all of that? The bottom line is that that video was an indication of the direction the dev team is going in, but it shared none of the details. Thus, there's no point in making speculations at this stage. Save it for beta time. That's the time to let loose.
Think about algae. Maybe the squid grew exponentially, so the day before the end of the world the squid was only a fraction of the size that it was in the video. That would explain the suddenness and the inability to do anything about it. Maybe it was a space mutant squid algae hybrid.
