    I feel like the amount of progress coming along is just insane. The acceleration of projects completing seems to point to a release of this year as expected. i sure as hell hope so. Cause this is the only game im looking forward to.

    I am looking forward to playing starbound can't wait!! everything looks fantastic and I am very interestied in seeing a starship traveling,planet exploring terraria ish game in action and the whole lets go to a new world bring it and the multiplayer.......... (goes on and on.........)

    Confirmed Alpha stage of announcing Beta will begin after conceptual plans for an idea planted in the head of Tiy during an Airplane trip that was actually an idea planted in the head of someone else in the basement of Miley Cyrus' house are finished. Estimated time of release? No idea. Time moves differently inside the dream world.

    Because DirectX 9 is the IE6 of graphics APIs. And that isn't a stretch, or anything. More than 90% of steam users could be capable of never touching it, 75% of them are immediately capable of not using it, and steam has millions of users. It is a comparable and terribly accurate information-point.

    DirectX 9, which is the only DirectX that anyone means when they say DirectX is being implemented, is over a decade old since the last major update and almost a decade since the last minor one. And I just plain hate seeing it get used, still, in an industry that has literally out grown it.

    Why do you think PC Games struggle so much to provide competing performance to console games, when PCs have much better hardware? DirectX is an ancient burden upon our computers that was designed for hardware over a decade old. No one benefits from it. OpenGL is a better standard, and a more consistent one, but even DirectX10 would be praise-worthy compared to DX9.

    Just... fuck DX9. It is the IE6 of graphics.

    A suggestion for the explosion animation: Make the fire burn first, and then leave black smoke, that dissipates after 3-4 seconds.

    As an animator i'm just gonna be nitpicky haha
    Assuming that the purple particles are meant to be the terrain particles
    i feel they're a bit delayed and should be appearign with the initial impact..no?


    other than that just like everyone else can't wait for release ;)
