19 hour Character gone

Ooookay.... i've been playing on one single character for 19 hours now, this morning when i just woke up i started starbound, but only to find out that my character is gone. What?! And what do i do now? I dont feel like making a new one so that character can disapare aswell. Please help me.

you know my 38hour char is gone to /gasp

it is as if the game was patched and resat ?!?! like it was said on the forum and the home pages several times over the last 4 days ?!?!?

There was a patch that completely revamped combat this morning, so the save is no longer compatible with the game. in a nutshell.

I've got over 100 hours invested in starbound, and it's been said numerous times, that there is going to be a char reset, and tbh I'm glad

 

Beta Wipe. You Were Told it was happening. You arn't getting them back.

 

I got 60 hours clocked in, and I knew my character was going to get wiped.
And guess what? its going to happen again before launch.

 

The discussion on character wipe has been ongoing for quite some time now. Either you don't peruse the forums or this is your first time here (indicating your history).

Remember, it is better for your character to be wiped now, than reaping serious problems in the long run (such as 300 hours).

 

I'm sorry guys but i had no clue, I bought this game on steam and it didn't say anything about a wipe in the description

 

Some guys had like 150+ hours.
Then beta happened.

 

Actually, that is a big issue... Is Starbound just listed in Steam as an available game? That shouldn't be so...

 

You guys don't have to be dicks about it you know, some people probably didn't know.

 

Reading is important skill to play starbound. Use it wisely.

 

looking at the store page I don't see anything mentioning possible save wipes. perhaps that should be put there?

Pretty much this right here. The one's saying this guy is stupid for not knowing are the idiots themselves.

Most games that are available early on Steam never wipe saves and hardly do anything with their beta stage, so it's not insane for people to expect this game to be the same.Their logic on thinking this person is stupid is also based on the braindead notion that everyone MUST check out all of the patch notes and forum activity involving the game, which isn't true.

I didn't know it was going to happen because i'm used to the normal beta BS. A few updates, nothing major, then the full game is out with not much to the game. I don't read up on the patch notes of the game because 1. I don't care, 2. if I did, some names or changes could lead to spoilers of my 1st time experience.

Instead I was one of the guys who invested a lot of time in the game not knowing this was going to happen, unfortunately.

 

as i said, found the game on steam, bought it and played it. Enjoyed it alot, woke up to my char deleted, I feel like chucklefish could've put a note when you start the game so i know. I'm not a big fan of forums

 

youll be happy to know there will be less wipes later in beta. Sorry people can be dicks about this sort of thing. lol Hope you keep enjoying the game!

 

Yeah, they couldve put a litle note telling us when the wipe is when you start the game or something, I feel like i'm not supposed to look in forums to find out something major as this .
