I agree, while character quotes popping up now and then would be pretty awesome for story purposes, the ship AI would be AMAZINGLY ANNOYING if you cant shut him off. I'm not against adding it entirely, but why not give us the ability to both shut the AI popup chatter off and the ability to filter AI popups to hide any newbie/tutorial popups that may get annoying for us people that know what we are doing.
I just hate hand holdy stuff. That's why I got into games like Minecraft and Terraria to begin with. If I want info I'll look it up myself, thankyouverymuch. I'd rather the game let me figure stuff out on my own. That's what makes it fun.
I do enjoy this to a large extent, but Minecraft REQUIRES a wiki or extremely lengthy periods of trial and error. I don't like hand-holding but I believe it should be possible at the very least to obtain knowledge from within the game so I'm not just keeping a wiki open on my second monitor lol.
Do you mean like how in MC you have to look up what to put in which square of the crafting window to produce a given thing, while in SB it's not just a matter of picking a thing from the list but you get to see what that thing needs, too?
