Maybe the flower biome could have a Floran Gardner NPC that planted flowers around the colony to spice things up a bit?
How about a hippie NPC that plants flowers everywhere, or a crazy cat lady that keeps bringing pets home, or a teenager who keeps putting up posters of boy bands, a geek that brings home broken tech and fixes it, two NPCs that are in love and keep singing songs to each other, a geologist that brings back obscure rocks, a botanist that brings back obscure plants, an astronomer who finds new stars for you, a chef that cooks you interesting food... Or a serial killer NPC that brings you suspicious meat and bloodstained clothes
How about an entitled gamer who keeps complaining about how slow the updates are coming out for his game?
I don't know if the actual biome/sub-biome has anything to do with the Npc spawned, or if it just requires the materials from that place, but I would honestly prefer the later, giving the player the ability to build massive cities with multiple layers of buildings like serious cyberpunk, and the relations between some Npc "types" that are opposing(like "good" and "evil, "gooey" and "sturdy", etc) would have less friendly conversations, or even to leave entirely; forcing the player to focus on what types go where when building their cities. But that's just my idea, and i could see it being a bit overpowered having every Npc in one area, but i can also see players getting frustrated when they have to go from planet to planet gathering, buying and selling from the Npcs, or even forgetting where those Npc's are. I think this would also give the Barren planets a reason to exist (seeing how they are resource-less wastelands).
It would be cool if Colony Deeds had variations, so they're easy to incorporate into your home design.
This sounds great! I look forward to eventually seeing every NPC in the colony system. =D I recommend adding the following themes of villagers, if not already introduced: Planet-themed - Desert, Volcanic, Toxic, Moon, Asteroids, etc. Common raw materials - Dirt, sand, obsidian, etc. Have you considered creating themed furniture for these as well? Underground microdungeons Pirates Fantasy
Possible equation: Cool Server + Cool Computer + Cool Desk + and a "No hope" sign. Hylotl Swordsman who may give you a practice weapon 1 tier less for trying out different sub-attacks?
This would probably be quite a bit of work but it would be pretty interesting to have a Warrior NPC that protects the house/houses and could maybe even join you as you explore. Another idea could be if you had like a Elder or something like that, who would control/watch-over the colony and make decisions for multiple NPCs around it.

You should make a nova-kid village including these structures and places ranch stables-new horse pet capture-able and ride-able clock tower gun range have a train at front of village smaller than the ships and on rails bank saloon hotel barn pub casino water tower if this is possible it would be great and unique to and nova-kid structures and npc's to the game and to add some (a little nova-kids don't have much or any really) history like 3 codex's ideas 1 southern gun fight history between nova-kids 2 what nova-kids think of themselves 3 a evil nova-kid bandit party nova-kid npc spawners and last some nova kid furniture thanks for even reading this and please consider adding this to the game i'm sure all nova-kid fans would like this but it would be alot of work for the developers thanks -zaser234 your favorite nova-kid
Have a female NPC who complains about equality, and requires lots of treasure items to be a tenant. Or, to avoid the whiners, have a hobo. Just requires a sleeping bag and a door, and he brings you whiskey as rent.
Wow more small changes to the background, and keeps improving. As to the tenants... hmm... *thinks real hard* How bout a mix and match one of apex classic, and hi-tech lab stuff would give a dr. jeckl/mr. hyde type character. Add a fancy decoration (like a flower pot, piano, or a simple screen {you know those ones people change clothes behind}) and it will be a female version. Have a TV (big ape screen), couch, and a end table; all classic type. This would make a Big ape Couch potato that is zoned into the big ape channel. A glitch wall, the stone brick ones, with plant matter (that you find all over the hunting grounds) in and around background lattice; with quite a few cultivated plants of various kinds for A Botanist. Also a couple steel tables for those plants to sit on. The plants could determine from which race they will be from, if not a select few different personalities they might have, as well possibly even gender. Bamboo wall, thatch roof, beach chair, parasol with table, and a few items you may find on a beach(might be tiki related). Makes a carefree relaxed type NPC that loves beach vacations or deserted islands. Add a banana statue(or totem of some kind) to all that, and it will end up being a marooned type NPC that believes they are the only one left, or a bit eccentric for being alone so long. The few items could determine the race, gender, and the like. On the flip side of the above, having only tiki stuff might make a Native, that has not traveled much beyond the world and has that rapa-nui type personality. Cannibalistic crave for food if some items happen to be part meat. If not will be possibly a variance between passive and/or aggressive type attitude. Thinking of the various native americans in the past, but with an islander type or jungle craze. Arcade machines throughout. Making either a collector of them or enthusiast. If having all the colored ones(or large amount of different ones; key being all have to be different), then a manager for the coin inducing machines it would be. Primarily a dance machine, a tv, spotlights; may make a dancer or rave type person. That is all I can come up with off hand, even if I can come up with more, and I know quite a few of those are pretty broad in description. I did that on purpose so that personality can be diversified depending on a few factors beyond a primary set that will give an occupation or style to the person. That much I can come up with, but at the moment being so early in the morning for me; I am just having trouble coming up with personalities for the moment without bordering stereotypes... Well I tried anyway.
Avian Priest that heals you for free and buff you x number of times intead of paying rent An NPC that makes nearby NPC give more stuff when they pay rent (blackmailer? xD) An NPC that keeps cloning itself and appearing anywhere at any time A monster NPC that gives you ramdon quest to get him food stuff, making him bigger ajnd bigger needing a bigger house and pays better rent the bigger it gets A tentacle cultist that makes sacrifices and creates tentacle based weapons for you A human with a weird disease that makes his voice sound like piano keys when he speaks A mutant/fish that fills his house with water/acid A house NPC that actually gains consciousness and pays you for getting creatures traped inside of it
