YES!!! I can now form my own small army of Penguins.

 

I'm gonna have penguins AND legit crew! Because diversity.

 

It's be interesting if status could actually influence what the say. Such as "laggy" here commenting on how his name would have no lag once he finds a good programmer.

 

I wonder if having an all penguin crew would turn Dreadwing from hostile to neutral... and he gives you a piece of his ship to "convince others he's gone" instead of you blowing him to smithereens...

 

Blegh! Penguins are a disgrace to the Avian race! (like me)

 

Now if I could just play as a penguin, my dream would be complete.

 

I'll hire one and lure it into lava. Darn things ruined my favorite boss from yesteryear by turning it into a robot penguin.

I like the idea of the bar, and it looks pretty cool for a bar hidden in an outpost, but I still hate penguins.

 

But Penguins aren't Avians, so how would they be a disgrace to us?

and on the topic of the speech bubble change, they probably did it for the rational reason that black on white is much easier to read than black on white. Although, customization of interfaces like that wouldn't run amiss.

 

@scaper12123: that does sound rational, yes. On the other hand, it stands out a lot against the rest of the UI. How rational does that sound to you?

 

Well, they do seem harder to hit. Unfortunately, Happy Feet ruined penguins for me. Any penguin mechanics out there? They seem like they would fit into the little access hatches better. Also, what's the story with the penguins that were on Earth?

Cool! Would sure help me to postpone colonization until we get "normal" Novakid villager/guard/merchant tenants. Yeah, I'm selifish like that and would rather colonise planets with my own race
