14/4 AMA - New Game Info [Updated]

You can dual wield one handed weapons, there are a couple of screenshots showing characters holding a gun and a sword.
This thing about not being able to carry two 1 handed guns sounds new to me. Care to share where the devs said that? I may have missed it

 

Awesome job with collecting all that info into one spot, much obliged. I am super excited to hear that the lore for the game will be so in-depth. As a lore nerd, I will gladly ride across the universe collecting every tidbit I can find

 

What about "social armors/clothes" like in Terraria?

 

There will definitely be social/vanity slots. From the Announced game info thread:"There will be vanity slots to alter your appearance, and many worn items will also use procedural generation for appearance making sure most players will not look the same."

Also, this pic from the roadmap shows areas next to each armor slot that appear to be for these exact items (the slots with the eyeball looking icons)

I once were at IRC when this discussion with Tiy started, it was said about how it May be not possible use 2 Guns at a same time in the final game.

Still it's not confirmed and it may be at Launch as it is now, but that means 1-handed guns will be weaker than 2-handed for balance. ^^

 

Yes Indeed exact like Terraria there. 3 Slots for Head/Suit/Pants and other 3 for their armors... AND STRANGE thing... There isn't Boots, Gloves Slot

 

And as usual, keep up to good work Bacon, always nice to see someone dedicated to post info ) Inventory in starbound looks alot more refined then Terraria, i like it atleast

Couple questions/comments I would like to make;

• Involving killing off all the life, I think it would be just easier to just make a device which kills off all life such as a thing from Stargate.

• My question for the cores is... If you Keep digging down, will you start going up again or do I just fall off the screen and back up the map where I should relatively be on the other side of the planet?

 

Hello Fox, about the core question. As Asked in AMA they said that wont be possible because how complex they needed to code it, there will be an Special Biome in Core. As in Terraria if you keep digging down in Core you will reach a point you can't dig Down Anymore.

I'm wondering for they make that Immersible, there will be something like "all lava" if we insist in going down that will kill us.
Still planets are circular and hopefully they wont have Corners as Terraria did.

In one of Bartwe's streams, I watched him reach the bottom of a world. There was a layer of lava 10-15 blocks deep and a solid bottom to the world like Terraria.

 

Yes wondered about that. But in the very end it's blocks or only lava? would make more sense like in Earth the core is all lava, but there is ground before the lava? Or lava and then ground?

 

I heard that the core of the planets will be a biome like Terraria's hell
