As of last patch, get your pickaxe and some metal ore of any type in your inventory. Left click the metal ore and then right click your pickaxe. Each right click uses one ore to repair it, the better the ore, the more it repairs. You can just click fast because you can't over-repair.
Sad face ;( game is still crashing after this update! I have not been able to play this game at all im so sad
Balancing everything can be really hard. Some companies need years to do that and are never really satisfied with the results. (To simply not just say the name.) So I'm looking forward to the results and wish you the best of luck. : 3
I personally never had a single crash on Starbound, only little FPS drops when there is too many buildings around. "If you choose to take part during stage 1 you should expect bugs, lots of balance changes, you shouldn’t get too attached to your character or universe as we may make changes that require you to start from scratch. You should expect the game to be broken at points as we make sweeping changes but you’ll get to enjoy exciting new content added constantly. The engine won’t optimized during this stage of the beta so performance could be poor on some low end machines."
Thanks for not wiping the characters! Also, I recommend keeping the ores boosted, as it'll reduce hunting/grinding for ores and let us test through the tiers faster.
People who complain should be praised and lauded... if they complain politely. "BETA BETA BETA BETA" is the correct response to rude and ill-informed posters. Part of the job of the forum is to inform users of the current status of the project. Which means, at least during stage 1 beta, a sincere attempt to convert "casuals" into testers. They'll have a bad experience otherwise. Complaining, and finding things to complain about, is the entire point of the beta. Most of us are here exactly because we have the decency to complain; the "hardcore" you're raging against are the people who make the best and most useful complaints. Victory in your arguments would damage the project, turn the forums into a wasteland, and make life really suck for the dev team. That doesn't mean people don't use "BETA BETA BETA BETA" to tell complainers to STFU when they ought to be listening, but that should be contested on an individual level when it seems to be happening. (Don't be afraid to play the hero for fresh posters.) In flamingly egregious cases, it's part of what we have a Report button for. Objecting when you see newbies getting abused makes you look good. Making a general case against beta-conversion when the game is rampantly incomplete just makes it look like you don't care.
Shields dont work, armor dosent work, if you dont stunlock enemies with knockback, they rip you a new asshole. Wish they had rushed to fix that instead of rushing to fix the weapon glitch. On the upside, weapon levels do seem balanced now. If only I wouldnt die in one hit while wearing titanium.
Knockback that scales based on damage received makes less sense than it should and it suppresses hopes for creative items, hoping to see an alternative for that.
Can't complain everything was rather reasonable with the patch except for the need for coal as a fuel. Please re-balance the fuel values for coal for a larger amount of fuel. or add back unrefined wood and give it a nerfed amount of fuel that's much lower than coal. could even ad diminishing returns if you use too much unrefined wood to fuel the ship etc.
I just had an epipheny. It could be that the absurd knockback problem we have in the game is because the armor dosent work. Would make sense.
weapon balance.... my steel hunters bow give me 11543 dps last night now it only give me 20 weak back to getting 1 shotted by mobs again joy yep i have 0 armor in titanium armor its like the armor is made of paper
What happened with weapon damage? How can I defeat the first boss with 10 dps? And my noob-sword is better then tier-1? Hope you'll fix it soon ))
You guys should give Floran mouths, the flat, bland face looks rather odd, given the art renders have wide mouths.
That's what I thought. Kinda stupid if you ask me, for my Floran wrecks most things (and continues to get wrecked) while my Glitch; Master Race gets destroyed by everything. Also, all the planets I seem to visit have insanely big hills. Which makes exploration almost counter-productive what with the Doom Birds.
Is there any way we could do something to make the bow a bit better, 4-5 arrows at a monster thats attacking you is nigh impossible with the bow not allowing you to shoot when being attacked, or going through up close monsters and or slowing down your own movement when monsters move so fast...
Let's not make the game too easy. These planets should be dangerous. Level 1 should be lethal. I want a hardcore mode ASAP.
