We all love spoilerific stuff, but it does ruin the stories and surprises. That being said, I may have made a similar error in judgement and then ran like sissy coward back out the door, leaping the guard and hoping the door was too low for him to ride the horse after me... Skyrim has taught me that out running four-legged creatures is rather difficult and usually ends with my corpse littering the cold landscape.
