1 Million Dollar Stretch

I don't want to sound like an asshole or something, I just hope we don't reach the 1 million stretch, since I still stand for my opinion - Pets should be only tamable and a sign of an experienced player and a thing you earn, not being given for free. Another thing is that each race will have different pets, so the race which will have the best pets, will be the most used. Woo hoo. But since it is official I don't have anything left, just to hope we either don't reach it or it will be possible for servers to turn them off completely.

I personally feel that pets are a wonderful idea.

 

i hope this doesn't come off rudely but i think this should be a pre-order incentive i don't think that everyone who buys the game should get this(just my opinion)

 

These pets are weaker than the ones you tame though, so I doubt that the starter pets will grow stronger.

But the thing I do agree with is that I also think it's kind of silly if you can't use one race's pet for another race character. Like what if I want to create a Glitch that has a Novakid pet? It would suck to realize that such a thing is not possible... And like you said it could force some people to roll with one specific race rather than going with the one they actually wanted to.

 

I'm having trouble understanding what you mean. I pre-ordered the game to help the devs. I would play it with, or withought any of the stretch goals.

I'm okay with it... but, for a stretch goal requiring a million bucks, I say it's weak. That's my opinion.

 

I think they won't do anything at all, since people like me, who wouldn't want a useless sprite running around on their screen, would have a disadventage on the people who do have starter pets, so they will be completely visual/vanity and imo useless dev time and money wastage.

It may be r umors, but someone claimed it was confirmed that it is an optional feature.

 

The pre-order incentives are already set though, changing on that could disappoint many people that already pre-ordered. And since this is a in-game character oriented objective, it could disappoint even more people if they bought the game later and not having the starter pet option.

 

You misread... I said that only people who pre-ordered should get this and the people who shouldn't get this is the people who didn't pre order

 

Now there are many reasons to dislike this new strech goal which were elaborated elsewhere, but what truly pisses me off about it is that the devs started a poll (presumably) to gauge the communities interest in this stretch-goal.

The results were 35% against and 65& for it.
Clearly, a whopping entire THIRD of the playerbase didn't like the idea and they went ahead and did it anyway!

How is a whole third of the playerbase a negligible frindge minority, it's 15% away from being half the people who give enough of a damn about the game to register on the forums.

 

They should've swapped the novakid stretch goal with this one.
I mean, when you hear ONE MILLION US DOLLARS you would think of something bigger.

Except they really don't want to do something like that. I've pre-ordered, but even I think the idea of having content being just for those who did pre order to be a bit on the bothersome side.

The majority of people in the poll wanted the starter pets. Therefore, we got starter pets.

 

The more crazy code heavy stretch goals people expect = the longer the wait for beta and the final release will be.
