1.0 hype

You all know there will be soon the 1.0 starbound. So i would like to know what does you feel for the update.

Me i just want this so bad for so long.I'm very excited about it And i wish there will be the Avali mod too for this one.

I'm personally curious on how many of the more small details are they going to cover with the update; all of those things that might have been uncomfortable so far, and that they fixed up with 1.0.

 

"Soon"? What makes you say that? Their blog posts talk about how they make progress every week, but they never put that progress in perspective. For all we know, they've only completed 20% of what was left since they announced 1.0 in the first place. I appreciate that they don't want to give estimates for release dates because they can't predict delays, but it would be nice of them to give at least vague hints of how far they've come.

They already said they were trying for sometime within the next few months.

 

I'd hardly call that "soon"... and that was just an offhanded remark months ago, for all we know they've already scrapped that timeline and are just hoping to get it out by the end of the year. I'd absolutely love to be proven wrong, but there's no evidence (that I've seen) that the game is very close to completion.

 

They said that like a month ago. It is only the beginning of June. You are being pessimistic for baseless reasons.

Really, it's best they don't rush the game anyway. We've had to wait all this time. Do we want that wait to be for nothing?

 

I don't have the original quote, but I remember reading about this a few weeks ago:

So, in theory, it could come this month or the next, but you know how (any) game development is, there is always a delay...

Since it's the official release, they will want to check everything thoroughly. I think it's worth the wait. There is a lot of new content.

 

As long as i can make my own civilization on a beautiful lush planet (hopefully a better background other than mountains, I miss the horizon and stars)Then i'll be happy.

 

The timeline actually looks more like "summer release". They said the goal (pending development and feedback of course) would be 2-3 months. They said that some time around Apr. It will most likely be longer than that, as there are still many bugs and QoL changes to be made. It wasn't an official time-line and not something to be "scrapped". I know everyone is eager for 1.0, but it's important to remain patient.

"Soon" is an acceptable estimation considering that the next Stable patch WILL be 1.0/release, the patch has a few months of work into it, and that (believe it or not) the devs are indeed ahead of their internal timeline.

Additionally -- if you haven't seen evidence of completion, you may want to check the dev blogs. As most/if not all of the recent blogs have covered fine-tuning, QoL changes, and fixes -- as opposed to the introduction of massively new systems and meta changes.

 

they also added fluffalos. I feel that is worth mentioning.

 

They have added a few things recently, but the things they added really don't seem to be things that would effect any core mechanics or anything like that.

Couple that with the fact they keep on "making great progress" and all the bug squashing talk... I'd be pretty surprised if it wasn't released to unstable by the end of the month. Provided they still do that with this update.

 

As far as we know they haven't been making progress on big things, as you guys would consider.
But that is as far as we know, perhaps they are withholding details to surprise us, maybe they already completed the story, and everything else, and are adding little things.
Don't rush it, this will be the first major update most of us will play.

 

I think it's definitely reasonable to assume it'll be out by the end of the year.

Also! With all of the optimization going on does anyone think intel iris 540 integrated graphics are gonna run it? I'm getting an XPS 13 and I'd love to play it on the go.

 

I know we need to be patient and wait for it. But I have so high expectations for this that the wait is killing me.

I also have anxiety issues.

 

Lore at all the things! That's the biggest part of 1.0 I'm hyped for. Lore is the best thing.

 

I'm not excited at all. I'm pretty much an anti-hype mobile. I'll get excited a few months from release, then when a game/update occurs I won't play for weeks.
