    Yeah pretty much. Ideally the system was meant to be just a fun little thing in addition to playing games (and to be representative of your skill and playtime in certain games) but because of the way it works + the ability to buy/sell the cards on the steam community market it has basically turned into "who has spent the most money on virtual trading cards".

    Would be much better IMO if they did something like tying the cards to things like in-game achievements; that way they would actually be somewhat meaningful (though, there wouldn't be much of a trading aspect either, it would just be a sort of extension of achievements).
