Do I have to remind you about the situation console gamers are in with Elder Scrolls Online? Constant delays, and missing out on limited content.. It's not good. This is probably due to the fact that the PC has more of a concentrated development on MMO's whereas consoles don't.

Well, I would pin that more on any updates for console games having to go through a lengthy evaluation process more than anything.

Also, I was of the understanding destiny was more of a co-op game in the vein of borderlands 2 than a true MMO.

That is exactly right as well Seg! And yeah it is a lot like Borderlands but it is definitely more of an MMO due to there being clans and competitive multiplayer, community hubs etc.. A lot of dungeon crawling as well.

Nah, you're right about there being a town/towns. You can trade, buy gear, chat and organise groups to go on missions etc with.
