you upload a mp3 file, or send them a youtube link and they manually write an ABC file that you can use in starbound

keep in mind that starbound is out now, so the amount of requests they get might have increased.

That doesn't make sense. An ABC file is a text file.

You change a text file into an ABC file. I did that the other day.

 

Changing the file extension =/= converting. An ABC file just contains text data in a specific format - the file extension exists more for human readability than anything else.

I just want to know how I get music inside the game.

 

There have been conversion tools made, but they don't work well and usually sound really bad. Most of the ones people use were made by hand by someone. your best bet is google.

Make a text file from notepad, copy and paste the song text, save it as .abc so it would be ExampleMusic.abc instead of ExampleMusic.txt, and place it in your Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\assets\songs folder.

 

Try the assets\songs folder.
