WIP ∆Mod Official Thread

Delta Mod:
An upcoming major modification for Starbound that will involve everything from harvestable/explorable gas giants
to entire underwater planets rich with secrets and dangerous enemies. Our main foci, aside from new types of
planets to explore and conquer, will be on weapons, agriculture, drones and additional story arcs.


THE DELTA MOD 0.00001_A release!
Changelog:
-You can land on Gas Giants.
-New HydrogenGiant biome.
-New Metallic Hydrogen liquid. (Don't step it it, it hurts like hell)

Installation Directions:
-Make a new /mods/ folder in the Starbound main directory.
-Create a new folder within there called "delta-mod".
-Copy all the files into there.
-Go to Win32, Linux 32/64, Mac32 or what is applicable, open up bootstrap.config.
-Edit the part that says [ "../assets" ] to [ "../assets", "../mods/delta-mod" ]
Enjoy!
Mod loaders *will not work* (or at least the ones I've tried) because of some hackery that goes on in celestial,
planetgen, and liquids.config.

The Team:
So far, our team consists of slightly more than three members, but we are always on the lookout for new talented
individuals to bring into our ranks. Given the scope of our project, any additional help would be much appreciated.

Need a logo?

 

I mean, we already have the Delta logo, but if had something better in mind, me and H1 would certainly consider it.

If you wanted to sketch it quickly, or just tell me what you were thinking of doing, that would be cool.

 

Something like that. Or I can make something more original. Maybe space as a background for delta sign. Maybe different text placement, font, colors, shadows maybe something more added or removed.

 

That's pretty awesome, but we're running a minimalist white theme, so that wouldn't fit in...

But say, can you draw concept art or sketch or something?

 

But Starbound isn't out...

Unless you got alpha access or something.

 

I think it's a bit overeager to declare a mod before the game actually comes out. Do you have, like, a secret alpha version so you can start early?

 

Well, we don't have anything, but from what the devs have leaked about the API, it seems that most of what we're doing will be easy to put in.

We don't have any more information than you guys though, or alpha copies, for that matter.

 

Nope. We're just getting things in order for now.

H1N1 has been discussing things with various people, and we've compiled lists of things that will be feasible given the known setup for the API and coding schema.

Anddd..... with minimalistic white theme rainbow goes well?
I can't really draw. As I said I can change anything in that design.

If you would make the triangle rainbow (and glowy), and scale up the image, we would love to use it as an wallpaper.

 

Why the rainbow? I understand the delta sign but not the colors.

Rainbows don't have full spectrum....
Lacks of Purple/Violet.

 

It's debatable, considering purple is what the mind thinks up to bridge together red and blue.

 

He really likes rainbows... Don't ask... If you want to be the logo person, it's gonna be a rainbow.

Anything else and he'll go "That's so un-rainbow!"
