This mod adds one handed pickaxes into the game, you can dig while you use other tools like flashlights or one handed weapons!
There is a pickaxe for each current ore in the game and stone.
One handed pickaxes dig faster than regular two handed pickaxes but they only dig 2x2 instead of 3 x 3 and they have less durability.

You can install this mod manually or using a mod manager like Starloader (I prefer the manager).
