  1. Swords and Shields Update!

    G.Xyon
Eiloh guys! Gyrruss reporting in for a big patch! While we apologize for the lack of activity and communication, it's due to this nice update! And without further ado, here's the contents!

    Additions:
    + New items!
    • Starter Armor: Starter armor has been introduced with new characters in the ship! No longer will you be forced to face dangers with only the shirt on your back! (Or worse, naked!)
    • Shortswords: The standard of the GSF weaponry, these shortswords are imbued with energy fields which help displace enemy limbs. Some wonder as to why they keep the actual blade, but you can only do so much with a battery or two. (This items is from the Tech branch.)
    • Shields: Accompanying the swords, shields are now added! Each elemental shield has its own unique property, which helps to vary playstyles! (This items is from the Tech branch.)
    • Hammers: What good is a weapon set without hammers? ROCKET Hammers?! These hard-hitting weapons might be slow, but they sure pack a punch! (This items is from the Tech branch.)
    • Shotgun / Cluster Cannon: Adding to the already-extensive munition selection, shotguns make their way! Along with these lovely shotties, they can be side-graded into a quicker cluster cannon! (This items is from the Tech branch.)
    • Chakrams: Taking advantage over the new boomerangs, chakrams have been introduced to complement melee-style weaponry, allowing some minor range for more playstyles. (This items is from the Seal branch.)
    • Hexing Tear Sword + Shield: A special Shortsword and Shield have been introduced into the game! Unlocks their powers through the Gyrusen Altar once you find them!
    • Laser Hookshot: An upgraded and longer version than the standard hookshot!
+ Re-introduced temporary minibosses: Older minibosses have been tossed out due to compatibility issues, but new ones have taken over for now! This will let the Jyinku Armor Set be re-obtainable.

    Fixes:
+/- Ouron Mechanic 2.0: Ouron Bars and Ouron Goop have been changed to add a double-difficulty measure towards players. Obtaining Ouron Bars in early tiers will be less costly but more complex in terms of procedure, which now require the player to grind up metals and mix them with liquids in order to get a handful of bars. Higher-tiers will require less complexity but bump up the cost some in exchange for a decent amount of items. Recipes have also been changed to make way for ease-of-access to characters that are entirely new and do not have access to later-tier resources.

+/- Changes in armor progression: Copper, Silver, Gold, and Platinum armors have been removed to avoid redundancy and cut down on costs altogether. The existing armors have had their recipes modified to make way for this change and the stats have also been rebalanced due to the lack of the previously mentioned armors.

+/- Redone specs & sprites T1-T4 Armors: Tier 1-4's armor sprites have been redone! They look alot more protective now. As mentioned in the previous point, these have gotten their armor values rebalanced.

+/- Re-spec of T5-T6 Armors: Tier 5-6 Armor has had a massive change in stats! They are as follows:
    • Earth: Fully Defensive with high damage, but lacks energy. Suitable for tank/melee playstyles.
    • Water: Slightly more defense with decent damage, but lacks energy. Suitable for melee mains who enjoy the occasional range.
    • Fire: Middle, Balanced point. Jack of all trades!
    • Wind: Slightly more offense with decent energy pool, but lacks defense. Suitable for ranged mains who enjoy the occasional melee.
    • Elec: Fully Offensive with High energy pools, but lacks defense. Suitable for ranged/stave playstyles.
Aside from this re-spec, the armors have gained an additional upgraded form which bumps up the armor values even more, solidifying their roles in the battlefield!

+/- Most melee weapons have been changed to Active Items: Nearly all melee weapons have been changed to Active Items! Most weapons will have their own series of secondary attacks.

+/- Scythes are now Altar weapons: Scythes have now been transferred over to the Seal branch, to make way for the hammers. This, unfortunately, will break all the current scythes in the game! However these new scythes are much better than the previous ones!

+/- Easier progression with seal items: Seals no longer require a tier unlock to be craftable, as now all seals are craftable once you craft the Altar. Further Weapons and Armor will be unlocked as you try out each set!

+/- Database is now in categories & requires pixels: The GSF Database has undergone a long-needed change! The Database now operates via Categories; certain categories will cost more than others, mainly due to the crafting requirements and ease of access towards them. As well, these items now cost pixels instead of resources for balancing.

+/- Tweaked merchant & guards: Thanks to all of the wonderful people in the discussion board, I have (possibly) fixed most if not all issues with the Tenants, Guards, and Merchants of the mod! As well, the Merchants and Guard now have different behaviors, so now they should not stray off too far from their original spawn positions. (Unless they need to rest, I mean, c'mon, standing all day isn't easy!)

+/- Fixed un-completable quests: Thanks to THEPROGAMR we were able to determine issues with the quest lines which would render them uncompletable. This has been dealt with and now they should be completable!

+/- Fixed compatibility issues with other mods: Thanks to almedyl we were able to fix a duplication issue with Frackin' Universe. Should be working now!

    Removals:
    - Seething Lance Projectile & Nerf: The Seething Lance's projectile has been removed due to Active Item limitations. The knockback has also had a nerf as it now requires to be charged, once more due to Active Item limitations.

Thank you all for being so wonderfully patient with us! These past few weeks have been rather tough for both me and my partner however we've managed to swim through loads of work to deliver you the most quality of content. If there are any issues (which I'm sure there might be a few still lingering around!) don't hesitate to drop a message in the discussion board; even if it's a suggestion!

    Have a good one!
