Before you think I did my avatar, let me just go ahead and say no, I didn't draw it, nor did I edit it! I'm assuming a friend of mine edited the tea/hat/monocle/suit in. The original one shows Kamina giving a thumbs up.
That does make it unique though, that your friend did that for you, I assume. Mine is one of the first results on google search for "Homura avatars". :/
He's a pretty artsy guy, so there's a good chance he did it himself. I saw him turn a sprite from a visual novel into Ayanami Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion. That was pretty cool.
He played it but he thought it was a bit too familiar to Terraria. I haven't talked to him about it, much. Maybe he'll play after they add some more content.
Yup, Starbound started up really slowly for me. I think it took me like.. a week or two to actually get past the first planet. It kind of helped that a friend picked it up and we were sort of playing through the game together (even though we were both in singleplayer). But after I was able to planet hop, it got a lot more fun.
I just used my bow on the UFO. That, and hit it with my sword whenever it was close enough. Oh, and he and I teamed up for the robot boss and the jelly boss. He had a bit of trouble with the dragon boss, but it was easy for me thanks to where I happened to summon him. It still took some time to kill him, though.
Hehe, I used turrets for the dragon boss. Gotta love the current OP turrets we have.
Also, for next time, you really should use bombs for the UFO. They take out the UFO in three hits. It definitely beats chipping away at it for several minutes.
Sadly, bombs aren't as effective against the other bosses. :(
Turrets, huh? Do you craft them? I haven't really settled down with Starbound yet, because of the upcoming wipe. I just hop from planet to planet, tier to tier.
I'll try to find bombs before I fight the UFO boss, then. Don't feel like firing arrow after arrow for ten minutes, hehe.
Currently, for testing I'd guess, turrets are craftable at the ship's pixel printer for the massive cost of...wait for it...ONE pixel. Hence OP. xD I believe they become available in the pixel printer after you use the Map Upgrade Mk3.
Oh, cool. I've been wanting to do some building but because of the upcoming wipe I've refrained from doing so. I probably won't build anything until I'm sure there'll be no more planet wipes. I will decorate my ship, though!
Yep, that was my plan as well. I'm yet to really decorate my ship actually. I look forward to tearing the background down and whatnot in the future. Trouble is that I use my ship for so much, and cutting the background down means I'd have to cut everything else down as well. -_-
Yeah, my ship is basically my home. Of course, that's why I want to decorate it. Right now I haven't even touched it (for obvious reasons) but as soon as I create a new character I'll be making it look as cool as possible. That won't be easy because I'm not a creative person. Oh well. I don't even know what race I'm going to pick after the wipe!
That's good thinking actually. Ripping apart my ship at the start before I place anything there would be much easier than ripping it apart later. And don't worry, after you've finished decorating you're ship, I'm sure you'll surprise yourself. I always think of myself as uncreative, but looking back on creative things I do, I never fail to be impressed.
If the universe is shared between characters, then I might re-create my human (yes I got attached to him already) and just forge the armour using a Hylotl or Floran character.
Ooh, that's a good idea. For some reason I've never even considered doing that, even though I'm aware of the possibility. I guess it feels like I'm gaming the system if I do that. Which makes no sense as it's not exactly an exploit.
Yeah, I don't really have to limit myself to one character. I can have multiple space-wanderers! Heck, if I do settle down, I'll build a huge house for as many characters as I have.
Exactly! Although knowing myself, I'll probably just stick to one character, only using the others to forge the gear. I'll forge some Hylotl gear for my Human and then I can really feel like a samurai whenever I use energy dash while dealing the killing blow to a monster.
I'm just hoping the universe is shared between characters. Then all will be fine. Well, even if it isn't, I could just ask a friend to create a Hylotl character and craft the items I want. Or I could craft them, give them to him, then get on my Human and take them from him. The possibilities are endless! When I upgrade my shitty Australian internet, though. I lag like hell whenever I go on a multiplayer server.
Don't worry, I'm 99% sure the universe is shared between characters. That's what everyone keeps telling me. The 1% of uncertainty is obviously because I haven't experienced it myself. Hopefully they don't change this in the next update. :(
Oh, good point. I could just go ahead and try it out. Man, I feel kind of stupid.
Oh, and I'm not Australian by blood. I spent the first 9ish years of my life here, then moved overseas until last December. I don't even know what to call myself, haha.
You probably have the accent, though! I lost mine when I moved. Now people don't even know what to call my accent! Where abouts in AU are you? That is, if you're comfortable with sharing that information to a complete stranger.
Ehh, Moroccans don't really leave that good of an impression. I've got a few friends in the Netherlands who hate Moroccans. I don't really blame them, but not all Moroccans are as bad as the ones who go overseas, haha. Some of my best friends are Moroccan. Well, they all have traits that kind of pull them away from the general Moroccan personality but still.
I don't have enough character space to explain why Moroccans are generally frowned upon, but let's just say they're two-faced, most of the time. They're also backstabbers. And they think the world owes them something, for some reason. Of course, they have their good parts too. Spending a good chunk of my life in Morocco was a learning experience, though.
