While there is a standard frame size for randomized weapons I believe it is very possible to use whatever size frames or weapons you want with unique ones (or randomized ones if you feel like making them all compatible).

Good to know. I was wondering due to the fact that I put up a Solarium tier weapon concept and handed it to Rho, but I was concerned that the weapon would be too low res if it had to conform to the pixel counts demonstrated a weapons gif we based our concept art from.

Well you can't deviate from the resolution, pixel-size wise. If you make it a higher resolution it'll just end up being bigger in-game.
