But seriously, so many years had passed since I last saw that mindtrick thing that I forgot it even existed. I was actually dumbfounded for a while when I saw it.

Same here. The active part of the community is certainly rather small, but it's the nicest, friendliest forum I've seen.
I blame the game not being out yet. After release, I bet it goes the way of all forums :P

Me too! The devs did a lot of things right: they let people know about the game very early and kept us updated, but unlike Minecraft they don't let us play and promise a ton more content, so they keep us all hooked. Also, Starbound had a larger dev team from the start, and they're not re-inventing the wheel XD.
I have my hopes set high on this game.
