So, I hadn't played stardew valley in like a year but decided to get into it again 'cause of the new update. Currently I'm at year 1 and it's spirits eve. I had already finished all my farm work by early morning so I used a totem to warp to the beach in order to get some fishing done. I was standing at the very edge of the dock and at around 5:00 pm some kind of monster (real 'shape of water' looking) started swimming away from the beach and out into the ocean. I have NO mods installed. Is this an easter egg that came with the new update? I couldn't find anything about it on the wiki.
I had not thought about that totem use. Now I might have a better use for my festival day. Thanks. Sorry I don't know how long that has been in there or not. I'll try to recreate it though.
@quicklime I'm assuming you're talking about this: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/The_Merpeople. If so, it's been in the game for a long time (I think since launch), it's just very rare.
