So, I've never posted a mod, like ever. Although I do have a fix for the Avian Dreadnought and I was wondering if I was allowed to post it somewhere or if I'd required the authors permission. Now I've never been told that it can't be and I do have it, also the author hasn't been on for like 3 years. I'm not necessarily saying I need to post a mod on this or anything, just if I could post it anywhere for anyone else who'd like to use the mod.

    Thank you for reading!:nuruhappy:

Link to the what it looks like, I honestly don't know how to show the image otherwise.

I'm not a lawyer, so take it with a grain of salt, but:
It's a big gray area because of IP. The mod was uploaded before the workshop asked for what people were allowed to do with the resources. From Molly here: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/resurrecting-abandoned-mods.93099/
Legally, I don't think you're allowed to do it; really, I don't think anyone will blame you, nor do I think any legal action was ever taken on revival of outdated starbound mods. If it happens at some point, you would be in the wrong, but you could probably get out of it by taking down your update and/or offering it to the original creator. As long as you give credit where it's due, people actually hardly care about IP laws (because they're weird / silly mostly, as shown in that linked thread).
If you don't want to post it as your own mod, you could probably put a dropbox link in the mod's reviews (and maybe the nexusmod's forum: https://www.nexusmods.com/starbound/mods/279/)

Thanks for the link, really lightens things up! I'd come to that conclusion, enough to figure to put it on hold and just hope the author comes back from the dead. Although I honestly had no idea it would've been illegal, I thought it was perhaps a forum rule thing only or something. I may consider posting it as a comment, but just for the time being I'll play it safe and wait it out. -w-
