Always had W7 and always will if this keeps going the way it is. It tells a lot if your latest OS is inferior to your 4th one. (Yes I know 9 was never made but that was just because they fucked it up and started fresh)

Wish you luck not needing the latest DirectX too soon then, they also tend to be rather unforgiving there.

 

I don't think my current laptop will survive long enough to warrant an upgrate to Windows 10. Though I do have to say that I miss some sort of start menu instead of whatever the hell this thing is.

 

i actually refused to have w10 downloaded on my laptop because i find w7 just more easier to navigate. And i definetly couldnt navigate through that one windows where it looks like an xbox menu than a windows screen

 

When I said my first video was going to be complaining about Windows 10 I was joking but after reading these posts I think I'll consider it.

Popups come from the right. We get all of about 1: "Turn on Windows Security Center"
You can change the way the start menu looks.

Literally all I dislike about it is the Telemetry bull.

 

W8 is that one OS that is literally an xbox in your computer, right?

So that's why I still have problem with this computer. I never got along with the UI of the xbox back when I had one and I always wondered why this piece of... efficient engineering, to avoid swearing, looked so familiar while still being a pain in the hindquarters.

 

W8 is the biggest piece of shit i had the misfortune of using.
So many things being broken by relentless updates. The terrible start menu doesn't work half the time, but i'm still debating whether this is a bad thing or not.
My dear Dark Souls III, still untouched because system DLLs or something.

 

I never had any massive gripes with Windows 8 or 10. Just forged on, but I have to say 8's layout made me hurt inside.
Then again I am also the mad masochist who played through all three Dark Souls game on keyboard and mouse. I REALLY didn't want to go buy a controller and I regret nothing.

 

I must admit I personally like Windows 10 more than Windows 7. Windows 10 looks better in my opinion, and when you remove all the windows live / xbox stuff from the start menu it looks fine.

I think Linux might be a much better choice if you don't need Windows for gaming. Though I have to admit that even with new GUIs and stuff, it's less user-friendly than the proprietary system. You'll never have to worry about viruses though!

My problem with W10 is that it hogs more resources than I think is warranted. That means that despite my pc specs meeting Star Citizen requirements, it still chugs a bit because W10 pre-allocates a lot to itself. And it won't let me disable updates and doesn't give a shit if I'm in the middle of something when it wants to reboot.
