Oh geez I completely forgot about this. I SHALL GET BACK TO WORK. But since my Stardew Valley isn't working I'll probably need someone to test it.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, I fixed my game (I think) I overwrote the game files and put my catbus in but I'm still seeing the normal bus even when it's been fixed, even when it's another season. I'll upload the png files if anyone else can figure out what's wrong ;-;
I'm wondering if maybe you put it in the wrong file? Since it's the bus, I think it's supposed to go into the files titled spring_outdoorsTileSheet and so on for each season...
I replaced all the bus files, the only one I couldn't was a file just called busstop or something but when I unpacked it it was a .tbin file so I don't know what to do.
Huh. Just did a quick bit of testing using your edit and I can't get it to show up either. I wonder what's going on with this? How strange! Sorry I can't really help out with this at all.
There has to be another bus file somewhere else? the game doesnt load CA's old tilesheets. Only in the content folder are where tilesheets ususally gets loaded up. Where are you editing the bus at? Maps? None of the map .pngs make a bounce in-game. Theyre only in that folder for the .tinbin to work while he was editing the maps.
I have checked every location in content that has anything to do with the bus stop, the only locations it shows up are Content, Maps and tilesheets. Then there's one random busstop floating around that doesn't unpack into a .yaml and png file.
Can you show me that file? i'm trying to find it. I think I've found a possible solution if it's like any custom map me and Jinxie made: put a copy of busstop_spring or whatever the fuck in the content folder itself. If that doesn't work, then it means that somewhere the bus is being coded to appear at the busstop itself and not on tIDE.
Yup I was right. I just looked at my spring_busttop file in content, and it's in there. That the problem, you're not also updating this file as well: ^^ edit, scully's unrealted, i love her hotass self.
Nope I've make the image for the spring bus stop, I replaced everything to do with the bussttop except that one weird one that I mentioned. Still nothing, I don't know why the visuals would be there if it's hard coded into the game but I don't see any other reason I wouldn't be able to see it. :L
where is that weird visual? it has to be it then, that is suuuper weird. then it is coded to just appear on the map?
That's weird. I see the bus in these locations: content>buspeople content>fall_outdoorsTileSheet content>spring_BusStop content>spring_outdoorsTileSheet content>titleTiles content>winter_outdoorsTileSheet content>LooseSprites>cursors content>maps>buspeople content>maps>fall_BusStop content>maps>fall_outdoorsTileSheet content>maps>spring_BusStop content>maps>spring_outdoorsTileSheet content>maps>summer_BusStop content>maps>summer_outdoorsTileSheet content>maps>titleTiles content>maps>winter_BusStop content>maps>winter_outdoorsTileSheet There are two different files in content>maps, one being buspeople -- which can be unpacked into a .png and .yaml-- and another being bus(people), which gets unpacked into a .yaml and a .TBIN. In fact a bunch of files, when unpacked, seem to become .yaml and .TBIN files. Even some you wouldn't expect to point to certain files end up doing so. Some of the files referenced contain the bus image. Here's a list: spring_outdoorsTileSheet.png is referenced by the following: content>maps>Backwoods.yaml content>maps> BusStop.yaml content>maps>Forest.yaml content>maps>Forest-FlowerFestival.yaml content>maps>Mountain.yaml content>maps>Mountain-BridgeFixed.yaml content>maps> Summit.yaml content>maps>Town.yaml content>maps>Town-EggFestival.yaml content>maps>Tunnel.yaml content>maps>Woods.yaml winter_outdoorsTileSheet.png is referenced by the following: content>maps>Town-Christmas.yaml content>maps>Forest-IceFestival.yaml fall_outdoorsTileSheet.png is referenced by: content>maps>Town-Fair.yaml content>maps>Town-Halloween.yaml titleTiles.png is referenced by: content>maps>Title.yaml buspeople.png is referenced by: content>maps>bus(people).yaml, but *not* buspeople.yaml. I'll add to this as I dig.
I just looked into it with a decompiler, and the Bus Stop location is dynamically drawing the bus from the cursors.xnb file. The bus itself is located towards the bottom of that sprite sheet.
Um, this might be a problem. With the busstop files there are 16 pixels for every on pixel on cursors. So if what was on the cursors sheet was what appeared in game I could still do a catbus reskin but I doubt I could simplify all the characters to fit that.
Oh, I also use Paint.NET! Yeah, it is not great at resizing things without making them suuuper fuzzy. What if you just had Totoro or someone drive the bus? Or would that interfere with Pam's sprite?
You can change the Pam sprite (assuming you don't have to change it anywhere else XP) that might not be too hard but I'll still have to work out how I'll simplify them.
