So I am a big fan of Spirited Away and was thinking the other day how cool it would be to have a farmhouse that is themed after the Spirited Away Bathhouse. Wouldn't have to be exact but I am a fan of this type of architecture but don't know anything about how to art or code. Example:
It might be a little tricky to implement since the farmhouse has a limited size, one wouldn't be able to make the bathhouse the same height because of the vertical constraints. If you don't mind the bathhouse only being 2 stories or so it could be done. Edit: I'm currently working on a png.
It doesn't have to be an exact model of it, so 2 stories would be fine, I just thought a Japanese style building would be kind of cool and the Spirited Away movie just popped into my head.
@lyscir Yeah, I totally agree. Spirited Away is one of my favorite movies. I've been working on it for a bit but I'm going out for the day now, I'll finish this up when I come back. So far this is how it looks (it's not much). I'm thinking of sticking that tree on the left side of the building. I can't center the building, it has to be to the right otherwise the door of the building won't align with the actual entrance (the area you click to get into the house). It's my first time doing pixel art and I still have to figure out how to convert the png to an xnb, but I'm sure it won't be too hard.
I finally finished! *tears of joy* Been so busy with finals lately. @Zalkyria Here's the PNG. I only made one for all three houses...
Woah, was not expecting that yellow patch behind the house... I guess CA didn't texture it because it's always covered by the house. I'll try to figure out a way to cover it up. OR alternatively there's a simple XNB mod that makes all the yellow patches on your farm green, that would work to cover up the patch too.
It will still show during the other seasons though too. This tends to happen when the left side seems to not be high enough to hide it u.u
The map mod replaces the yellow areas with the grass texture, so it changes with the seasons. I was thinking of re-editing the house to cover it up, so the mod suggestion is only a temporary fix.
Oh I'm dumb, omg, I am so sorry. For some reason I was associating dirt with grass. But if thats a possibility that could be fine x.x
hmm, this is looking very good. thank you for making this. I think one change I would make would be to make a step up to the porch area to add just a bit more depth to it, but it looks great, so i would like to thank you again.
