dont sell yourself short, overworld spite modding is incredibly painstaking and time consuming if you wanna do it right

 

Well regardless of how I feel about my work, I'm glad people like it.

 

the problem with the rare cats is that they have no animations in the app.. some are standing on 2 feet, wearing clothes..
it might be possible to make a single sprite to retexture a piece of furniture or a scarecrow or so but seems like a lot of work...

the only rare cat that seems "possible" is Frosty, you'd just need a white base (like dottie) and give it red eyes olive green ears and turn the tail into a white knob ^^,, could be cute i guess

 

I guess you could call this the artist's stronger critic...themselves! I know plenty of artists who do amazing art and most of them are like, "Maybe...I guess..." Nothing wrong with trying to shoot for something better though, gives good motivation imo.

Alright so I decided to tackle Bob the Cat to see how much work it would take to do the rare cats.

This is just a rough sketch but .... yeah it's a lot of work lol
Add to the fact that I don't have any type of reference for the animations from the game itself.
I'll keep trying but I don't know if I have the skills to do this.

it looks good, but yeah don't worry about the rare cats.
maybe you can turn this sprite into a scarecrow or furniture.
that way you only need this one frame..
