So I'm feeling generous today, already gave away 1 copy of Starbound using a number game (I'm so sorry twitter), so I felt that the forums would be wiser, easier to follow and more fun!

So, a little contest!

I've got 1 copy of Starbound to give away, so the person who responds to the questions below correctly will get it! Good Luck!

Question 1: What is the name given to two stars that are orbiting each other?

Question 2: What is the largest known star known to us?

Question 3: What was the name of the Asteroid that recently passed Earth?

 

1) That's called a Binary star
2) It's a little tough to be exact, since there's definitely a margin of error involved. Three leading candidates are UY Scuti, NML Cyngi, and WOH G64.
3) 2014 RC passed by in September. 2004 BL86 is set to pass real soon, though!

 

1) Binary star system
2) YV Scuti - a red hyper giant with a radius of 2.4 bilion km so 5 times bigger than our own sun.
3) 2014 SQ143 in January 29th. It had an estimated diameter of 310 m.

That would be Binary Star System, as many has indeed mentioned above.

Wouldn't that be UY Scuti? The red Hypergiant?

Question 3: What was the name of the Asteroid that recently passed Earth?
Asteroid 2004 BL86 is as far as I can see the latest one from NASA.
