Alright, with the nightly build avalaible right now I get 60+fps in the ship and 50-55fps on the planet. Let's see after this one goes live. If everything runs like it was planned to, I should get at least ~80fps in the ship and ~70fps on the planet.
for me i get 60 on ship and 60 on planet but if there is soo meny stuff on the screen or any doungen it drops to like 5 hopeing the update fixs this x-x
It would be great if this rendering system was pushed to stable as soon as it's working properly. I can't play the game fully as it is right now and especially won't when the new combat system is implemented. Dungeons and villages are the worst though. They feel like half a frame per second or similarly bad.
Anyone knows why every time I try to launch Nightly I get: Code: OpenGL (StarmapException) Could not initialize input from configuration. The Linux build has a bug that's causing it not to compile, as soon as it's resolved the nightly will go out
I look forward to hearing how the performance changes go! This is great news to go with my morning cereal.
Seems worth a try... When it comes out. It is good to hear optimization in rendering is going well. Right now it is time to wake and have my morning coffee tea....
Pardon my ignorance, but I have two issues: 1- The game is currently stuck at max 60 FPS (as per Fraps) despite "vsync" being "false" in starbound.config, in both regular and openGL modes ; 2- I have no friggin' idea how to open the developer console in SB so I can do /debug . Thanks!
You don't need to open the console. You can just type into chat. (default key is "enter/return") Alao, for everybody complaining that they "haven't played in months" it IS possible to have both stable and nightly ready to play at the same time. I made a program a while back that helps to do that. A lot of the work still has to be done by the user, but it's better than nothing. I do suggest, however, that you backup your starbound folder first, as that is always a good idea. I'm no longer developing the program, as there hasn't been much interest, but it is functional, so here's the link: http://community.playstarbound.com/...arbounds-unofficial-alternate-launcher.80589/ Try that out.
Well, I went from having 40-50 fps on older builds to 15-20 fps on this new one. Could be an isolated problem and I'll try re-installing, let's see.
