And this is why hard SF is awesome sometimes. You end up with neat things like that completely unintentionally.

So does this mean that there's a possibility of a gleaming white high speed furnace, that emits sparkles?

  3. Icebelly

    Icebelly Weight of the Sky

    Oh! Well thank you! :3
And as for the topic of Avali stoves. Would be rather interesting to see the sparkles in the air
Imagine watching an avali cook from any other race's perspective.

Makes me wonder what a Restaurant Kitchen would look like on Avalon. (They'd probably have fans everywhere that suck up the glittery goodness before it has a chance to accumulate on everything.

That is honestly a really, really pretty imagine.

Hey, Max, what's up with that kitchen? It's sparkling.
Are... are they cooking with glitter?

Probably not. Unlike silicon, water is soluble in ammonia, if they got snow in their mouth it'd dissolve into solution. While large amounts of water are undoubtedly toxic to them, small amounts should be harmless.

"It looks pretty, but still smells like piss and vinegar!"

well I'm sure that would be a health hazard to humans seeing as it might be the same as glass dust... worst thing ever to breath that in cuz it cuts the insides of your lungs and you die from drowning in your own blood really painful and gruesome death

just realised that if a avali had some one eg a human die in their ship it wouldn't affect them as it would humans because they breath methane and decomposing body release methane...

I would think it would just melt back into vapour before it did any damage whatsoever, unless you were already so cold as to be dead.

Remember, avali core temperature is at MAX -20°C. Water would freeze at a much higher temperature, even taking into account the higher atmospheric pressure.

If I found eutopia for you, you'd complain the sky was the wrong shade of pink.

No no, I made a bad pun and-
    Whatever.
Although yes, getting the right shade of pink is always important.

Oh, that's fantastic! Avali kitchens FTW!

Also, oxygen would be worse than a simple asphyxiant to the avali if inhaled, since it's super corrosive, wouldn't it?
