I agree, the highlights idea seems to be a pretty good "best of both worlds" sorta thing

 

The color highlights definitely seem like a good compromise, I have to say.

I'd say that might just actually work...

Though it does rather throw it out of sync with the armour (Which dyes full-panels), unless I also match the armour but does everyone want all their armour to be white?

Well, they can never seem to compromise, hence the name "do-nothing congress".

 

As for the armor issue, maybe have it be ore-colored on the highlights and such, but have the dye full-panel it?

Then people without the dye mod could have some variation, and people who do could make their armor all pretty-like.

 

Avali armour is all vanity gear it doesn't have a tier to draw an ore colour from

Personally I'm not entirely sold on this. Possibly because you guys don't know what i have in mind for the building materials dyes

I love it!

I hadn't expected there to be larger chunks in the effect, but man it looks good!

I had originally been leaning toward the colored tiers, but now I'm thinking that they're a bit too colored.

I like this idea though:

I think it's a nice balance between the two options. Not sure how feasible it would be given the low resolution you have to work with, but if it's do-able, I vote this. ^^

As for all this talk on Facebook acquiring Oculus, it sounds like none of you (or very few) are reading anything more than the headlines. So, for those who are interested:

But if/when it does become non-vanity armor (which you said you would do when chucklefish gets the progression thing fixed, right? or am i being a moron again?), that would be the best course of action...
if you did it, that is. it's fine as it is right now, though.

 

Just curious, how does the dye mod work with the avali weapons? I don't have any experience with it.
