Having the Beta at christmas, IMO, would be a poor choice. As would having it on Thanksgiving. I'm anticipating the game/beta as much as the next guy, and I don't want each post of mine to sound like picking apart the devs, or bitching... Still, I think Beta being tomorrow would give plenty of time to start testing..
Depends on your definition of "soon". Besides, the most they would do is announce a date. They're not going to magically open it for download, in order to avoid confusion.
ha! everyone here complaining about beta release date and noone bothered checking their humble bundle link!
nothing  just checking if someone actually goes check it EDIT: actually, answering your question literally; the soundtrack is quite interesting!
I knew something was up, it seemed too suspicious. You made me waste a good two minutes finding my link

I hope if you talk near an NPC, they have a chance of saying something back. It would be cool to talk to someone in single player but the developers are awesome, they probubly already have that
What would have been more interesting is if you weren't able to understand other species apart from your own. When an NPC from another racetalked it appeared as illegible alien characters. The only way you could communicate was if you made a universal translator. Afterwards you had to try and talk to the other races, slowly learning their language, which could annoy them or cause them to become hostile for a bit. Unable to trade or attempt quests from them until you had completed the translation.
