Just out of curiosity, what was the first NPC milestone? Basic conversation framework, basic gathering behavior, the first step out the far side of the uncanny valley of emotional intelligence?
Sweet! Vague but awesome milestone on NPCs. But will be seeing them in a video soon? Curiouser and curiouser... also the melee weapons have been improved, which is also awesome. Can't wait for tomorrow's update.
I still wonder why not use the same concept of durability from tools on weapons like in monster hunter doesnt break but does less damage
I am probably still going to make a hellevator. Tool durability is, in all likelihood... not going to stop me. (Protip: Bring multiple mining tools. That's how I got around Minecraft's durability.)
Could you possibly explain the team's philosophy behind durability? If it's "easy to keep sharp", why is the mechanic in place at all? I'm not trying to be controversial, I just don't understand the purpose. If it's going to be a realism thing, this durability, perishable effect should apply to many different parts of the game, such as ship fuel, an energy source for shelters/homes/structures you build (for lights, and appliances, torches and things like that), ammo, and other aspects as well. Applying it to a single group of items just doesn't make sense to me. unless it's for a very specific purpose, durability should apply to all things or not at all. Just my opinion.
soooooo, can we see a Boss?? GOD TIY !!! the wait for the launch is.. PAINFULL !! D good work soo far and keep it up !! have a nice month team
I assume the crafting material requirements for tools and other equipment will be around what Terraria had (as much as I hate to bring comparison between the two games). Sharpening will most likely be the most efficient manner of non-stop digging, rather than making entirely new tools. That said, I'm all for this durability system. Thanks for the post, Tiy.
I wonder if that statement is to be taken literally, and that mining straight down will actually use up your tools faster than other methods. It would make things a bit interesting if the most efficient way to reach the lower layers was to make big staircases and such, rather than tunneling straight downwards
there is very few games i played more than 80hrs and this one will probably make it very high. my 5 most played games would be 1. Rock Band: Probably around 4-5000hrs 2. Don't Starve: 286 and counting 3. Elder Scrolls Oblivion: 140ish 4. GTA San Andreas: 120ish 5. Final Fantasy 7 : 90ish I'm fairly sure this game will make it to no.2, or close to it
no one cares. Seriously, I doubt there's one person here that does. feel free to stop posting about your place anytime
