What are your favourite Sci-fi melee weapons?

I would like a Gravity Hammer. Pulls enemies close to you, and when they get close enough, you knock them away with a mighty swing.

 

Sci-fi or not, as long as I can also beat stuff to death with random objects (Wrenches, Drills, lead pipes, sledgehammers, hatchets, pool cues, etc) I'll be happy.

Oh, also a guitar with a blade on it that doubles as a melee weapon, that'd be nice too.

Its so hard to think of ideas that would actually work in the game, I imagine gauntlet type weapons would require a punching animation for EVERY race, that being said stuff like flails could work with the grappling hook system that was mentioned in a recent news update

 

PREDATOR CLAWS all the way!!! {if you don't count them as weapons ..... some form of chainsaw}

 

I fell in love with Ruby's Crescent Rose at first glance.

You have two of my favorite things all in one; an over sized scythe AND a high powered rifle. It just sings ballads of over-kill in the perfect tune.

 

Double points if we get to augment jumps using the recoil!

I also like Sokina's post. Probably my favorite sci-fi weapon has been the gravity hammer from Halo games. I always imagine that it's heavy to move, but once you get it going it accelerates on its own, due to some internal device.

Beam-anything melee weapons are always a win, too.

 

I don't know if this counts or belongs in a different section, but I would love to see mountable turrets and other emplaced weapons too heavy to take with you.

I want my fort to have a plasma lance >8D

I was going to say a sonic-screwdriver than i saw the melee part.

 

He sometimes taps people with it... I think he could uhh, extend a beam of sonic resonance and use it as a lightsabre maybe?
