Starbound ran fine for me until recently when this crash on startup began... i re-installed, updated graphics drivers, unsubscribed from mods, updated windows, still crashed. 32-bit ran fine and running 64-bit as admin worked but i think it should be unnecessary for a game to run as admin... so i dug in and started hunting down a solution

Log files showed a stack overflow error right when the steam platform should initialize, just after SDL inits; i figured either steam or sdl was the problem but it turns out they don't appear to be at fault. After starting windows (7) with only basic services Starbound started running fine so i started up programs i normally keep running, one at a time while starting Starbound after each one until... a lastpass utility for local apps.

I can reproduce the crash everytime i load that lastpass app and after closing it Starbound runs fine.

I had been running that lastpass app for a long time before the crash started so i assume its something about Starbound's recent updates... but there ya go, i hope this helps anyone having this annoying crash.

I believe this issue has not been resolved as I experienced the same thing. If I close LastPass or run the Starbound 64-bit exe as admin it works, but otherwise it immediately gives a stack overflow error. I've attached two log files.

    I have no mods installed.
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium.
The crash occurs in both full screen and windowed mode.
