Hi i'm new here, though i've been checking up on this game for some time now. I have yet to play starbound but as someone who has thoroughly enjoyed terraria i'm quite excited for this game. anyway here's a piece of Hylotl Fanart drawn on a Wii U. i might do more starbound related stuff in the future but maybe after i get my hands on the game.

Wow that is absolutely gorgeous. I had no idea the Wii U had drawing capabilities. What's it like? Do you need to buy extra hardware or software for it?
Sorry for this late reply. I'd the Wii U is a pretty decent drawing tool, all you need to do is download the Art Academy- Sketchpad app which is reasonably cheap and you're set. You just sketch on the Gamepad (best use I've ever had with it TBH). Currently the Sketchpad version is sort of a taster experience of the full version which will drop in a few months (October), which contains tutorials and a larger range of tools and features. While you can still create amazing things with it, The app tries to emulate real world art tools. And as such you won't be able to undo mistakes and you don't even get extra layers to play with, The full version may fix these issues though. well it's not really water bending. based on the little i know about starbound lore i felt the technology of the hylotl would use water. the floaty water thing around her back is linked to a device, this device stores water in a protective bubble field (hence the floaty water). The device would allow this character to employ more attacks in succession rather than charging it up with water directly from the atmosphere. i also had some ideas for a 2 handed katana weapon that would come with a sheath. charging the blade with water would mean sticking the sword in the sheath, while charging i think the player would still be able to run around but with a unique animation of the character readying the blade. releasing the attack when fully charged would launch a short range projectile of water from the blade( should still be able to attack without water though but no projectile). i might develop the idea some mor with pictures if people would like that.
