Modding Help Wheres the mod file or how to make one?

I tried putting mods in the game but I don't have a /mod folder that everyone has, if anyone knows where or how to get it I would be very happy

 

First make sure you have the latest version of the game. If the /mod folder isn't present in the Starbound directory then you should be able to just create it.

 

well that's the question, where to create it? and if i'm not updated how would I update the game?

 

Mmm.. If you have an up-to-date game (current version is Offended Koala) and are missing a \mods\ folder, which I can't imagine why you would be, it belongs here.

 

im not using steam for it
and just make a mods folder that's it? or do I go to the website

I can help with that. I happen to know the copies at these links will *always* be the updated version.
