What game does Starbound makes you think of?

Starbound keeps making me think about Commander Keen, because of his explorations and he meets all kinds of creatures. He has a space ship too! And how many of you know Commander Keen?

 

Lets just say I know of it

 

Never heard of Commander Keen
and me personally... it makes me think of Freelancer (in terms of how big and free places are) and Terraria (you know why )

 

Commander Keen is a DOS game released (1990) one year before I was born and marked most of my younger days as I saw my big brother play it all the time. I didn't know the name at the time and only found it by accident one year ago. It brings so much good memories when I play it, and I somehow remember all the levels vaguely, as if I already played it. My char in Starbound will probably look like him!

Also, I will look into Freelancer! As I will probably with all the games mentioned here!

Edit : Freelancer makes me think of the game X 3, wich seems better IMO.

Commander Keen Miss that game

and yeah Starbound makes me think of Terraria lol

 

Once upon a time Terraria and Mass Effect had a baby. However, they got divorced, and Mass Effect remarried Borderlands. Borderlands raised this baby as if it were his own, teaching this baby how to grow up to be a fun game. During the summer, this baby visits his good old uncle Fallout, and he picks up some habits while he's down there. This baby's name is Starbound.

It makes me think of a generic sci-fi show that travels the cosmos visiting various planets with adventures by the sit load but as of a game it makes me think of treasure adventure game mix with Evochron Mercenary's.

 

Well, terraria. But starbound is a mostly original game, so it doesn't really remind me of any game.

 

It reminded me a lot of Spore. Although Spore doesn't have space hobos, unfortunately.

 

Ah man that was SUCH a great game! I friggin' loved it!

Star Trek
Terraria
Skyrim
Minecraft
Super Mario Bros.
And every other awesome game in history.

 

To me it seems like a mix of Terraria and some really old MMORPG. Can't really name any specifics.

 

Portal 2, because of SPAAAAAAAAAAACE.
But really, it makes me think mostly of Spore and, of course, Terraria.

 

It's mostly always coming down to Terraria and some other(s) great game(s)! I'm not surprised, since there is a little bit of Terraria in it, mixed with plenty more SPAAAAACE things! Probably the best game I'll play in a while!
