1. When making a thread, please tag your thread accordingly using the menu to the left of the textfield where you name your thread where applicable. Server Advertisements and Mod Releases should be contained to their respective subforums.

Server Help [Tutorial] How to test a local server

    This thread is to show you how to join a server when it is running on the same computer as your client

    I'm using windows for this tutorial and if you need help starting a server on a different OS then look elsewhere

    1. Click on the "Launch Starbound Server" and let it finish loading all the files

    2. Start up the Starbound Client and pick Multiplayer and then select your character

    3. In the Server address field you'll need to type "127.0.0.1" and clcik join server

    If you wish others to join your server then you need to make sure starbound is not blocked by your firewall and port forward "21025"
