I tried looking up guides, but all I found was outdated stuff. I got a sprite I made, notepad++, but what next? If anyone can explain stuff or at least send a link to an updated guide, (maybe even a template!) that'd be appreciated!
First of all, you'll have to unpack the assets. If you haven't done that already, here's a link to help you out. http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/how-to-successfully-pack-and-unpack-pak-files.66649/ Then go to /items/active/weapons/novakid where you can find several examples of how the gun files work. I also suggest taking a look at this http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/unofficial-modding-ebook-2-0.2930/, if this is your first time modding starbound. It'll learn you how to set up things before you can get started. EDIT: if you're only interested in doing this once, I can also just type the whole thing out here. The above is just better for when you want to learn modding in general.
Thanks a lot man, my plan is to make a small little addon for personal use, and then move on to larger projects when i get the hang of it
