WIP [SMAPI] Butchery - butcher animals for meat! [Deleted]

I could work on some sprites for the smoked meat so they don't all look like raw bacon.

And as an added suggestion, perhaps a way to dry the meat so it can become jerky.

 

Yeah that would be great, I used the same sprite for testing purposes mainly

 

Here's some sprites I made. I hope they are small enough.

 

They look good Should probably have mentioned however that they all need to be no more than 16x16 pixels, so they're all on the big side as is unfortunately

 

Making very little progress today... well, none in terms of Butchery content. In the process of rewriting the crafting system so we can easily add our own Butchery (and other) recipes. A necessity, but coding this GUI stuff does not make for good fun *sigh*... finding it hard to keep focused. Hopefully done within the next few days.

 

Progress is progress, that is work that needs to be done to make it the most well-rounded experience as possible.

Alright, so I don't know if you care about possible bugs for this mod yet, or if this is a bug at all. Everytime I hit that specific tile with the Scythe, I get Goat!

HOWEVER....... my Farmhouse is a testing ground for my own modding, and I am actually hitting a tile with a Message Test property. I'm pretty sure what's that is, but on the offchance it isn't I thought I would bring it up.

edit: Hitting my Chests with the Scythe is giving Beef and Chicken as well. I'm running SMAPIChestLabelSystem if that is helpful. Weird part is that I just noticed that when I am alt tabbed for awhile in front of my Chests and tab back in, it'll pop hundreds of Meat for no reason. Weird!

 

lol! no idea, will have to give it another look. Bit hungover today so don't think i'll be doing much coding. I did however just purchase Pyxel Edit to try my hand at some pixel art.. they're terrible thus far lol. Will have a look at meat spawning code maybe later or tomorrow if that's alright!

 

Pff, yeah. Nursing a hangover ranks a bit higher than modding.

 

First attempt might track pixel art progress in here as I go along... Honeybee's are much better lol. Just need resizing

 

Its quite refreshing to be working on the mod but not coding. Granted, we're gonna have an arse-ugly mod to begin with

Those really aren't bad, especially not for a first attempt! If I ever let anyone see my old pixel art and live... But let me know if you're looking for critique on them. I may not be the greetest artist myself, but I have been dabbling at the pixel stuff for more years than I'd care to admit.

 

Critique would be great not going to improve otherwise. I opened up a barn image to change into a slaughterhouse.. realised just how much detail was in the buildings (and how big they were)... nah lol, maybe in the future. I'll try get some more of this UI code for the crafting recipes done today.. *sigh*...
